Vacation Bible School 2026 | Set Sail ⛵🌊📖 Part 5
"Hope While Sailing Through Life’s Storms"
For the final Bible lesson of our Vacation Bible School, Sister Nancy taught the children a very important lesson entitled “Hope While Sailing Through Life’s Storms.”
Children may be young, innocent, and carefree, but even at a young age, they will experience difficult and painful things in life. Through God's Word, the children were taught how to understand and respond to the storms they may encounter along the way—small disappointments, a bad test at school, sickness, family problems, bullying, rejection, or even being rejected because of their faith in Christ.
We were reminded that suffering exists because of sin and the consequences of selfish and sinful decisions. This is a broken world, and because of sin, there is suffering and pain.
But what a wonderful truth God's Word gives us: storms do not necessarily mean that God has abandoned us. Sometimes, God allows the storms in our lives to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Him.
The children were reminded of the story of Jesus calming the storm. Even in the midst of the storm, Jesus was still in the boat. He has power over the storm. And when the storms of life come, we can always cry out to God, give our worries to Him, trust Him, and obey His Word.
Ultimately, our hope is found in the Person of Jesus Christ, who promises to be with us through every storm.
“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
— John 16:33 (KJV)
The children were then led in a prayer of thanksgiving to God for being our eternal hope. Through Jesus Christ, we have the hope that we can endure the storms of this life, overcome the world through Him, and one day be with Him for all eternity.
After the Bible lesson, the children enjoyed some games, received prizes and refreshments, and took plenty of pictures as we brought this year's Vacation Bible School to a joyful conclusion. These moments captured wonderful memories of the goodness of God and the blessing of this Gospel endeavor.
From the beginning, our desire was simple: to preach the Gospel again and again, to teach God's Word, and to provide these children with wholesome fun and Christian fellowship. Our prayer is that the Word of God planted in their hearts will one day bear fruit in their lives and that God, in His grace, will use His Word for the salvation of their souls.
We praise the Lord for every single person who helped make this year's Vacation Bible School possible—especially the brothers and sisters of Taoyuan Grace Baptist Church who faithfully served in so many different ways.
We thank God for every child who came, every lesson that was taught, every song that was sung, every game that was played, and every Gospel truth that was shared.
To God alone be all the glory! 🙏⛵🌊
