NEW SEASON, NEW CAPACITY
God is bringing us into a new season, but every new season requires a new capacity to carry what He is releasing.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:19
God does not only want to change our season; He wants to change us so we can carry the season. A new season may bring a new assignment, like Moses, who was called to lead God’s people out of Egypt. It may bring new responsibility, like Joseph, who was entrusted with the resources of an entire nation. It may require a new level of maturity, like David, who was anointed before he was ready to reign. Or it may bring new opportunities, like Esther, who was positioned “for such a time as this.”
But before the new comes preparation through consecration, setting ourselves apart for God’s purposes.
“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5
To walk into a new season spiritually, we must understand that God often develops our capacity through relationships, service, discipleship, and spiritual leadership. Elisha served Elijah before carrying the mantle. Joshua served alongside Moses before leading Israel. God is the source of our calling, but He often prepares us through those He places around us.
Sometimes we ask, “God, what are You releasing?” But the greater question is, “Lord, am I becoming capable of carrying it?”
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide…” Isaiah 54:2
New w**e requires new w**eskins. New territory requires enlarged capacity. New assignments require new levels of preparation.
So as God brings us into this new season, may we have greater faith, deeper character, renewed minds, faithful stewardship, humble hearts, and a greater willingness to serve.
We are not simply entering a new season; we are becoming a people prepared to carry what God is releasing.
