Hey Folks: Check out this exciting program offered by Docunation. A great way to view Israeli Documentary Shows in English. Details below. FYI, we confirmed this with the Israeli Office: It's real!
Hello, shalom,
My name is Dor, and I’m writing on behalf of DocuNation. This Israeli cultural initiative connects people around the world to Israel through human stories and award-winning documentary cinema.
In a time when antisemitism and polarization are rising, we’re working to build bridges through culture, empathy, and shared human stories.
That’s why I’m reaching out from Israel to share a unique initiative that connects people around the world to Israeli life through documentary cinema and honest conversation.
Founded in 2020 by filmmakers Yonatan Nir and Almog Gurevich, DocuNation has become Israel’s leading platform for online documentary screenings.
Each week, thousands of viewers join us to watch meaningful Israeli films, followed by live conversations with the filmmakers. Over the years, we’ve reached more than one million viewers.
DocuNation was created with two core goals:
• To make high-quality Israeli documentary cinema accessible to broad audiences everywhere.
• To support and sustain Israel’s vibrant community of documentary filmmakers, enabling them to continue creating and sharing their stories.
Since we began, we’ve had the privilege of hosting over 150 acclaimed filmmakers, including Golden Globe winner Ari Folman (Waltz with Bashir), Emmy Award winner Yariv Mozer (We Will Dance Again), and Israeli Academy Award winner Tamar Tal (Life in Stills) – among many others.
Each event is hosted by Yonatan Nir, an award-winning filmmaker whose films have been broadcast in over 60 countries. He has spoken to more than 450,000 students at conferences for judges, physicians, psychologists, and social workers, and on some of the most important stages in the world – including TEDx, the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, the Holocaust Museum in Montreal, and the UN Headquarters in Vienna.
What truly sets DocuNation apart is our unique business model, based on the ancient concept of Dana – generosity. Screenings are open to all, and each viewer decides afterwards if and how much to contribute. This spirit of trust and giving sustains Israeli cinema and ensures that culture remains accessible to everyone.
So why are we reaching out to you now?
After years of focusing on Israeli audiences with Hebrew-language screenings and conversations, we are now stepping onto the global stage – bringing the human, beautiful side of Israel to the world, through English-language films and conversations.
Our next event takes place in just a few days, and we’d love for you and your community to be part of it.
We’ll be screening "Children of the Sun," a multi-award-winning documentary by acclaimed director Ran Tal, which has been screened at dozens of international film festivals.
The film explores the fascinating story of the kibbutz movement through rare archival footage and deeply personal testimonies.
After the screening, Ran Tal and Yonatan Nir – both kibbutz-born filmmakers – will join a live conversation to share their personal experiences and reflect on the creative process behind this unique story.
Registration is now open:

We’d be grateful for your support in sharing this event with your community through your newsletter, social media, or by connecting us with cultural attachés and local contacts. We also have a ready-to-use visual kit and all necessary materials.
Looking ahead, we’d be happy to explore ways your mission could be more formally involved, including potential sponsorship of future events.
Let’s bring more people closer to Israel through its stories.
Warm regards,
Dor
