米街廣安宮創建於雍正元年(1723)，原建築物是寧靖王府的鼓樓，和開基武廟的鐘樓相對稱，位置在古稱「米街」是鄰赤崁樓之西邊(現稱新美街)所以名稱謂【米街廣安宮】。
兩百多年來供奉池王府王爺鎮守在府城商業中心護佑百姓安居樂業、生意興隆，遊客絡繹不絕，創造繁榮的米街商店街及石精臼點心城盛名，因此廣安宮富有一歷史背景淵源，並受眾多信徒膜拜之古廟。
