新社區天后宮主祀天上聖母，世稱開基大突寮媽祖，前身為大甲郡清水街大突寮庒公廟永安堂，清光緒年間由祖輩黃楊右率領庒眾前往雲林縣北港朝天宮分靈，隨庒遷移，不改民風，奉祀至今威靈赫奕。
