西衛開元宮主祀開漳聖王，據記載乃於康熙55年創建，由西衛先民自福建漳州迎奉來台，光緒年間曾改建一次，至日治時期曾修繕，戰後，民國55年建廟，今日所見之大廟於民國83年所重建。
