新埔與天宮位居新埔中正路上，奉祀天上聖母，俗稱媽祖廟。明治43年(西元1910年)由嘉義北港朝天宮遷移至此，為僅以香旗從事。大正3年(西元1914年)竣工，廟之規模始具。
