小法鼓又稱法仔鼓或小法又或小法團，其專門執行請神、清壇、祝壽、召營、驅邪除穢、壓煞、開光……等科儀，小法團成員常被視為神明的專屬特工，專門服務神轎之後因此又有後誦之稱。
小法鼓不僅是廟會常見的藝陣，更是一種活生生的道法傳承，亦是民間信仰中極具特色的宮廟文化。
