本陣成立於民國六十八年，是目前西港香所有金獅陣最慢成立的一陣，當時禮聘竹港村金獅陣林屋等四、五位金獅陣教練前來指導傳授陣法、獅頭、兵器等功夫，所已延續綠腳巾之傳承。
暗館方面蚶寮角另聘請佳里黃南宗教練來教授飛鶴拳，他擅長「長肢鶴」，塭內角聘請黃可師父傳授少年梅花拳，後期又有黃熙煌師父傳授春桃鶴拳，在暗館拳術方面可說是相當多元。
民國七十五年永昌宮金獅陣代表台南縣到台中參加第一屆台灣省觀光節舞獅比賽，榮獲冠軍，是謂「寶島獅王」！
