Corpus Christi is a religious holiday in the Christian community celebrating the Holy Eucharist or Holy Communion. It is the liturgical celebration of Christ's death and resurrection, where Christians partake of Christ's body and blood. This is done through a feast of accepting bread and wine to denote Christ's body and blood respectively that was shed on cavalry.

Additionally, this holiday coincides with rains brought on by the Rainy season and as such it is thought of as a good day to plant.

"While they were eating, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave a prayer of thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples. “Take it,” he said, “this is my body.”
Then he took a cup, gave thanks to God, and handed it to them; and they all drank from it. Jesus said, “This is my blood which is poured out for many, my blood which seals God's covenant." Mark 14:22-26

Indian Arrival Day is a day set aside to commemorate the arrival of people from the Indian subcontinent to our shores as indentured labourers brought by European colonials. The first Indian Indentured labourers came in May 1845 on a ship called the Fatel Razack. While these Indians were a new labour force to assist in the economic development of Trinidad, they also brought their culture which influenced present day Trinbagonian culture.

The day is usually celebrated by "staging a re-enactment of the arrival of the Fatel Razack at various beaches throughout Trinidad and Tobago. There is also music and dance, and outstanding members of the community are honoured for their contributions to society."

The LMPC wishes to extend Mothers Day greetings to all mothers and mother like figures of our church, and by extension to all the maternal figures of Trinidad and Tobago.

We say a prayer to our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, to continue to guide and protect our mothers.

"Heavenly Father, I lift up to you today all mothers. Today, we celebrate mothers, but the truth is, we should celebrate them every day. Their love manifests in small, subtle ways each day–in the mundane that sometimes we can take for granted. Bless them with the strength to continue to be their best, and to care for their children with the same bold, selflessness Mary showed Jesus. Help them to feel our gratitude and truly know their impact in our lives. In Your name we pray. Amen."
