Good Friday! The day Messiah was crucified. Was he? Scripture properly interpreted says that the Messiah will be cut off in the middle of the week-Daniel 9:26 -27

Good Friday does not therefore square with scripture. Think about it.

Today is called Palm Sunday by Christians. That teaching is its interpretation of the scripture in John 12:12-13. The vast crowd had thrown palm branches on the rode as Jesus rode into Jerusalem.

This Sunday is a big day of worship to God among Christians. my grandmothers used to go to church on that day. Many Christians still do. The churches are usually decorated with palm branches.
But is the practice biblical?
John 12:1 says 6 days before the Passover Jesus came to Bethany and verse 12 says inter alia on the next day he began his journey To Jerusalem.

Passover is on the 14 day of Abib or 14 day of the first month in God's calendar - Exodus 12. The 14th day of Abib in the year Jesus was crucified AD 31 was Wednesday April 25. Six days before the Passover was a Friday and the next day was Saturday or on the Sabbath. This year Passover is on 19 APRIL 2019. Good Friday is on the said day, Six days before that day would bring you to Friday and next day would be Saturday.

The John 12 doctrine does not therefore support Christianity doctrine on Palm Sunday.

Gun men killed over 40 Muslim worshipers in New Zealand today. It seems an act of hatred and their displeasure for Islamic people who dwell in their land.

This conduct portrays man's inability to love their neighbour as himself - Leviticus 19:18 ...you shall love your neighbour as yourself. It is the state of man's knowledge and adherence to the values of the Eternal.

I would want to think that the shooters/gun men are Christians. If that is so, what would happen when Christians turn their guns against other Christians.

Can't happen? History shows that between 538 AD and 1298 over 100 million Christians were killed in the name of God by other Christians. A similar fate it seems await the world and the saints of God. Revelation 17: 6 ... And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints.

Serious times are in the offing.
Today's events should give us cause for deep personal reflection as to our connection with and/or disconnection from God.

Judgment as a biblical concept confuses many Christians. There are many differing beliefs as to its true meaning. Some believe that it is trial and punishment of humans by God for their misdeeds or sins. They believe that there is court through which the punishment is dished out.
Their favourite scriptural reference is John 5:29:.. for a time is coming when all who in the grave will hear his voice and come out to a resurrection of life and those who did evil to damnation or judgment.
ARE CHRISTIANS correct in their beliefs? What do you believe? We'll explore the issue next time.

Last week I raised the issue of the conversation Jesus had with the rich young ruler. It was about entering into life- eternal life. Jesus' answer to him was to obey the commandments.

The young ruler did not because even although he obeyed the commandments he was not prepared TO SHARE OR GIVE his goods with others or to the have-nots.

Entering into life carries with it the responsibility of caring for the have-nots of this world and it is a bounding part of Jesus' commands to his people. It's a continual obligation.

Last week I referred to the Q&A Jesus had with the rich young ruler. The very instructive spiritual is found in Matthew 17: 19. It is that of entering into life. It's salvation's big story.

The commands of God gudide you to that destination. It's like the GPS that takes you to your destination whose pathway is unknown.

The rich young ruler like so many people don't know the salvation destination and how to get there. Jesus says:
to enter into life keep the commandments- all of them. It's God's SPS. Use it as your daily guide

Why is there so much violence all over the world today?
Long time ago in a Q&A section with the Master a rich man concerned with the problems of life asked:.. Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

The answer remains valid for our time. You cannot change and/or vary it. Live it instead.

People are asking: what is wrong with our world? The question should really be: what is wrong with man? The apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy prophesied: ... man shall be lovers of themselves only, coveteous, fierce, flash accusers despisers of those who are good with a pretense that they know God... 2 Tim 3: 1-5. So what is wrong with man? Perhaps it's time man looks at himself.

in Luke 19: 13 Jesus gave this parable: ... '' Occupy till I come.'' Jesus was instructing his disciples and his saints today how they should live while he was away. All his servants were endowed with talents. So too are his saints. But are we occupying? What is it to occupy? It comes from the Greek word pragmateuomai (pronounced prag-mat-yoo'-om-ahee) to busy oneself with, i.e. to trade:--occupy. Other meanings are:

1) to be occupied in anything
2) to carry on a business
3) to carry on the business of a banker or a trader.

So christians/ saints of God should busy themselves in economic pursuits in addition to serving God in spirit and truth. We are not to be lazy and depend on handouts or stay at home and do nothing or indulge in self-pity.

Instead we should utilize our short time here on earth in profitable business undertakings so that when Jesus returns we can tell him that we have used our tents wisely and say to him: 'here are our returns'.

So Occupy! He is coming soon.

Today is the first Sabbath of year 2017. It is the appointed day set aside by the Eternal to worship him- Leviticus 23:1-3.

True worship of God takes place on the Sabbath and other feast days as Scripture says.On the other hand vain worship takes place on days not proclaimed to be holy days. Mark 7:7 ... vain do they worship Me teaching for doctrines the commandments of man.

The days that modern christianity has chosen to worship God were chosen by man and made permanent by the Roman Empire beginning in 318 AD or thereabouts.

Man cannot choose the days, months or times to worship God. He only does and has.

This year, do yourself a favor by asking yourself whether the days, months or times and festivals have been proclaimed by him as times to worship him or celebrate.

This is the last Sabbath for the calendar year 2016. So a happy Sabbath to everybody who believes in the word of God as set forth in Scripture.
I know that many Christians in mainstream christianity believe that the laws of God no longer bind man.And so the Sabbath is otiose. Here is a thought for you: all flesh shall from one new moon to another new moon and from one sabbath to another shall worship God and it is mandatory-Isaiah 66:23. This is our exhortation to you all today.
