"The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few." (Luke 10:2)
This morning, our parish family gathered for a special Mass for the Sick and the Elderly. During the celebration, Fr. Ashton, our Parish Priest, administered the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick to all in attendance.
In his reflection, Fr. Ashton reminded us that sickness is not always visible. While some may suffer physically, others may carry burdens of the mind, heart, or spirit. In one way or another, each of us stands in need of God's healing grace, strength, and consolation.
Through the Sacrament of the Anointing, all were invited to encounter Christ, the Divine Physician, who comes to heal, strengthen, and accompany His people through every trial and difficulty. This sacrament is a profound sign that the Lord never abandons His people, especially in moments of suffering and weakness.
As we celebrate the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time, let us continue to pray for all who are sick, elderly, struggling, or burdened in any way, trusting in the Lord's healing and mercy presence.
"Come to me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
