Matthew 10:7-16 GNBDC
[7] Go and preach, ‘The Kingdom of heaven is near!’ [8] Heal the sick, bring the dead back to life, heal those who suffer from dreaded skin diseases, and drive out demons. You have received without paying, so give without being paid. [9] Do not carry any gold, silver, or copper money in your pockets; [10] do not carry a beggar's bag for the journey or an extra shirt or shoes or a stick. Workers should be given what they need. [11] “When you come to a town or village, go in and look for someone who is willing to welcome you, and stay with him until you leave that place. [12] When you go into a house, say, ‘Peace be with you.’ [13] If the people in that house welcome you, let your greeting of peace remain; but if they do not welcome you, then take back your greeting. [14] And if some home or town will not welcome you or listen to you, then leave that place and shake the dust off your feet. [15] I assure you that on the Judgement Day God will show more mercy to the people of S***m and Gomorrah than to the people of that town! [16] “Listen! I am sending you out just like sheep to a pack of wolves. You must be as cautious as snakes and as gentle as doves.

Acts 11:13-30 GNBDC
[13] He told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send someone to Joppa for a man whose full name is Simon Peter. [14] He will speak words to you by which you and all your family will be saved.’ [15] And when I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came down on them just as on us at the beginning. [16] Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ [17] It is clear that God gave those Gentiles the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, then, to try to stop God!” [18] When they heard this, they stopped their criticism and praised God, saying, “Then God has given to the Gentiles also the opportunity to repent and live!” [19] Some of the believers who were scattered by the persecution which took place when Stephen was killed went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, telling the message to Jews only. [20] But other believers, who were from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and proclaimed the message to Gentiles also, telling them the Good News about the Lord Jesus. [21] The Lord's power was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. [22] The news about this reached the church in Jerusalem, so they sent Barnabas to Antioch. [23] When he arrived and saw how God had blessed the people, he was glad and urged them all to be faithful and true to the Lord with all their hearts. [24] Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and many people were brought to the Lord. [25] Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul. [26] When he found him, he took him to Antioch, and for a whole year the two met with the people of the church and taught a large group. It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians. [27] About that time some prophets went from Jerusalem to Antioch. [28] One of them, named Agabus, stood up and by the power of the Spirit predicted that a severe famine was about to come over all the earth. (It came when Claudius was emperor.) [29] The disciples decided that they would each send as much as they could to help their fellow-believers who lived in Judea. [30] They did this, then, and sent the money to the church elders by Barnabas and Saul.
Acts 13:1-3 GNBDC
[1] In the church at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon (called the Black), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the governor), and Saul. [2] While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said to them, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul, to do the work to which I have called them.” [3] They fasted and prayed, placed their hands on them, and sent them off.

[5] God created the heavens and stretched them out; he fashioned the earth and all that lives there; he gave life and breath to all its people. And now the LORD God says to his servant, [6] “I, the LORD, have called you and given you power to see that justice is done on earth. Through you I will make a covenant with all peoples; through you I will bring light to the nations. [7] You will open the eyes of the blind and set free those who sit in dark prisons. [8] “I alone am the LORD your God. No other god may share my glory; I will not let idols share my praise. [9] The things I predicted have now come true. Now I will tell you of new things even before they begin to happen.” [10] Sing a new song to the LORD; sing his praise, all the world! Praise him, you that sail the sea; praise him, all creatures of the sea! Sing, distant lands and all who live there! [11] Let the desert and its towns praise God; let the people of Kedar praise him! Let those who live in the city of Sela shout for joy from the tops of the mountains! [12] Let those who live in distant lands give praise and glory to the LORD!

Psalms 112:1-10 GNBDC
[1] Praise the LORD! Happy is the person who honours the LORD, who takes pleasure in obeying his commands. [2] The good man's children will be powerful in the land; his descendants will be blessed. [3] His family will be wealthy and rich, and he will be prosperous for ever. [4] Light shines in the darkness for good people, for those who are merciful, kind, and just. [5] Happy is the person who is generous with his loans, who runs his business honestly. [6] A good person will never fail; he will always be remembered. [7] He is not afraid of receiving bad news; his faith is strong, and he trusts in the LORD. [8] He is not worried or afraid; he is certain to see his enemies defeated. [9] He gives generously to the needy, and his kindness never fails; he will be powerful and respected. [10] The wicked see this and are angry; they glare in hate and disappear; their hopes are gone for ever.

Praise the LORD! Happy is the person who honours the LORD, who takes pleasure in obeying his commands. The good man's children will be powerful in the land; his descendants will be blessed. His family

Matthew 16:1-12 GNBDC
[1] Some Pharisees and Sadducees who came to Jesus wanted to trap him, so they asked him to perform a miracle for them, to show that God approved of him. [2] But Jesus answered, “When the sun is setting, you say, ‘We are going to have fine weather, because the sky is red.’ [3] And early in the morning you say, ‘It is going to rain, because the sky is red and dark.’ You can predict the weather by looking at the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs concerning these times! [4] How evil and godless are the people of this day! You ask me for a miracle? No! The only miracle you will be given is the miracle of Jonah.” So he left them and went away. [5] When the disciples crossed over to the other side of the lake, they forgot to take any bread. [6] Jesus said to them, “Take care; be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” [7] They started discussing among themselves, “He says this because we didn't bring any bread.” [8] Jesus knew what they were saying, so he asked them, “Why are you discussing among yourselves about not having any bread? How little faith you have! [9] Don't you understand yet? Don't you remember when I broke the five loaves for the 5,000 men? How many baskets did you fill? [10] And what about the seven loaves for the 4,000 men? How many baskets did you fill? [11] How is it that you don't understand that I was not talking to you about bread? Guard yourselves from the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!” [12] Then the disciples understood that he was not warning them to guard themselves from the yeast used in bread but from the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Galatians 5:1-15 GNBDC
[1] Freedom is what we have — Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again. [2] Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you allow yourselves to be circumcised, it means that Christ is of no use to you at all. [3] Once more I warn any man who allows himself to be circumcised that he is obliged to obey the whole Law. [4] Those of you who try to be put right with God by obeying the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ. You are outside God's grace. [5] As for us, our hope is that God will put us right with him; and this is what we wait for by the power of God's Spirit working through our faith. [6] For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love. [7] You were doing so well! Who made you stop obeying the truth? How did he persuade you? [8] It was not done by God, who calls you. [9] “It takes only a little yeast to make the whole batch of dough rise,” as they say. [10] But I still feel confident about you. Our life in union with the Lord makes me confident that you will not take a different view and that the man who is upsetting you, whoever he is, will be punished by God. [11] But as for me, my brothers and sisters, if I continue to preach that circumcision is necessary, why am I still being persecuted? If that were true, then my preaching about the cross of Christ would cause no trouble. [12] I wish that the people who are upsetting you would go all the way; let them go on and castrate themselves! [13] As for you, my brothers and sisters, you were called to be free. But do not let this freedom become an excuse for letting your physical desires control you. Instead, let love make you serve one another. [14] For the whole Law is summed up in one commandment: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” [15] But if you act like wild animals, hurting and harming each other, then watch out, or you will completely destroy one another.

Freedom is what we have — Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again. Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you allow yourselves to be circumci

Ecclesiastes 9:11-18 GNBDC
[11] I realized another thing, that in this world fast runners do not always win the race, and the brave do not always win the battle. The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always get rich, and capable people do not always rise to high positions. Bad luck happens to everyone. [12] You never know when your time is coming. Like birds suddenly caught in a trap, like fish caught in a net, we are trapped at some evil moment when we least expect it. [13] There is something else I saw, a good example of how wisdom is regarded in this world. [14] There was a little town without many people in it. A powerful king attacked it. He surrounded it and prepared to break through the walls. [15] Someone lived there who was poor, but so clever that he could have saved the town. But no one thought about him. [16] I have always said that wisdom is better than strength, but no one thinks of the poor as wise or pays any attention to what they say. [17] It is better to listen to the quiet words of a wise person than to the shouts of a ruler at a council of fools. [18] Wisdom does more good than weapons, but one sinner can undo a lot of good.

I realized another thing, that in this world fast runners do not always win the race, and the brave do not always win the battle. The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always

Psalms 72:1-20 GNBDC
[1] Teach the king to judge with your righteousness, O God; share with him your own justice, [2] so that he will rule over your people with justice and govern the oppressed with righteousness. [3] May the land enjoy prosperity; may it experience righteousness. [4] May the king judge the poor fairly; may he help the needy and defeat their oppressors. [5] May your people worship you as long as the sun shines, as long as the moon gives light, for ages to come. [6] May the king be like rain on the fields, like showers falling on the land. [7] May righteousness flourish in his lifetime, and may prosperity last as long as the moon gives light. [8] His kingdom will reach from sea to sea, from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth. [9] The peoples of the desert will bow down before him; his enemies will throw themselves to the ground. [10] The kings of Spain and of the islands will offer him gifts; the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring him offerings. [11] All kings will bow down before him; all nations will serve him. [12] He rescues the poor who call to him, and those who are needy and neglected. [13] He has pity on the weak and poor; he saves the lives of those in need. [14] He rescues them from oppression and violence; their lives are precious to him. [15] Long live the king! May he be given gold from Sheba; may prayers be said for him at all times; may God's blessings be on him always! [16] May there be plenty of corn in the land; may the hills be covered with crops, as fruitful as those of Lebanon. May the cities be filled with people, like fields full of grass. [17] May the king's name never be forgotten; may his fame last as long as the sun. May all nations ask God to bless them as he has blessed the king. [18] Praise the LORD, the God of Israel! He alone does these wonderful things. [19] Praise his glorious name for ever! May his glory fill the whole world. Amen! Amen! [20] This is the end of the prayers of David son of Jesse.

Teach the king to judge with your righteousness, O God; share with him your own justice, so that he will rule over your people with justice and govern the oppressed with righteousness. May the land en

Matthew 15:29-39 GNBDC
[29] Jesus left there and went along by Lake Galilee. He climbed a hill and sat down. [30] Large crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the dumb, and many other sick people, whom they placed at Jesus' feet; and he healed them. [31] The people were amazed as they saw the dumb speaking, the crippled made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they praised the God of Israel. [32] Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I feel sorry for these people, because they have been with me for three days and now have nothing to eat. I don't want to send them away without feeding them, for they might faint on their way home.” [33] The disciples asked him, “Where will we find enough food in this desert to feed this crowd?” [34] “How much bread have you?” Jesus asked. “Seven loaves,” they answered, “and a few small fish.” [35] So Jesus ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground. [36] Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks to God, broke them, and gave them to the disciples; and the disciples gave them to the people. [37] They all ate and had enough. Then the disciples took up seven baskets full of pieces left over. [38] The number of men who ate was 4,000, not counting the women and children. [39] Then Jesus sent the people away, got into a boat, and went to the territory of Magadan.

Jesus left there and went along by Lake Galilee. He climbed a hill and sat down. Large crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the dumb, and many other sick people, w

Galatians 4:21-31 GNBDC
[21] Let me ask those of you who want to be subject to the Law: do you not hear what the Law says? [22] It says that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman, the other by a free woman. [23] His son by the slave woman was born in the usual way, but his son by the free woman was born as a result of God's promise. [24] These things can be understood as a figure: the two women represent two covenants. The one whose children are born in slavery is Hagar, and she represents the covenant made at Mount Sinai. [25] Hagar, who stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia, is a figure of the present city of Jerusalem, in slavery with all its people. [26] But the heavenly Jerusalem is free, and she is our mother. [27] For the scripture says: “Be happy, you childless woman! Shout and cry with joy, you who never felt the pains of childbirth! For the woman who was deserted will have more children than the woman whose husband never left her.” [28] Now, you, my brothers and sisters, are God's children as a result of his promise, just as Isaac was. [29] At that time the son who was born in the usual way persecuted the one who was born because of God's Spirit; and it is the same now. [30] But what does the scripture say? It says, “Send the slave woman and her son away; for the son of the slave woman will not have a part of the father's property along with the son of the free woman.” [31] So then, my brothers and sisters, we are not the children of a slave woman but of a free woman.

Let me ask those of you who want to be subject to the Law: do you not hear what the Law says? It says that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman, the other by a free woman. His son by the slave w
