Day 2 of the Provincial Visit of The Most Revβd Philip S. Wright, Archbishop of the Church in the Province of the West Indies to Trinidad and Tobago was marked by fellowship, service, and meaningful encounters across the Diocese and wider national community.
The day commenced with a courtesy call on the Most Reverend Charles Jason Gordon, Archbishop of Port of Spain, at his residence. Archbishop Wright then visited and toured Bishop Anstey High School, where he was warmly welcomed by Canon Richard Jacob, Chairman of the Board; the Principal and other members of staff, and treated to a special performance by the school's choir.
Continuing his engagement with Anglican education, Archbishop Wright visited three Anglican primary schools in Belmont (St. Margaretβs Boysβ, Melville Memorial Girlsβ and Escallier/St. Jeromeβs), where students proudly showcased their talents and the vibrant spirit of Anglican education in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Archbishop paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, further strengthening the bonds between Church and State.
The day concluded with a deeply moving visit to Bishop Clive Abdulah. Archbishop Wright greeted Bishop Abdulah warmly, spending time in fellowship and prayer with him, and offering special prayers and blessings as he prepares to celebrate his 99th birthday this Friday.
As the Provincial Visit continues, we give thanks for these moments of connection, encouragement, and shared faith that continue to strengthen the life and witness of the Church.
