Day 32 – Chaupai 30 – Hanuman Chalisa Series
साधु संत के तुम रखवारे।
असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे॥
*Sadhu sant ke tum rakhware*
*Asur nikandan Ram dulare*
Hanuman protects saints and good people.
He destroys negativity and is loved by Rama.
Life Lesson:
This verse highlights Hanuman’s role as both a protector of the righteous and a fierce warrior against negativity. The lesson here is about finding a balance between kindness and strength.
It teaches us that being a good person doesn't mean being passive; it means having the courage to stand up against what is wrong while remaining deeply devoted to a higher purpose or set of values.
By protecting "the saints" (the good qualities within ourselves and others) and overcoming "the demons" (our own ego or bad habits), we create a life of discipline and integrity.
Ultimately, when you align your actions with service and truth, you become a person of great value to the world, much like Hanuman is beloved for his unwavering dedication.
Reflection:
This verse reflects the beautiful balance between a gentle heart and an iron will. It reminds us that true strength is found in being a protector of the good and a quiet force against the chaos of our own negativity.
Just as Hanuman is cherished for his devotion, we find our own sense of peace when we shield the virtues within us—like patience and kindness—from the "demons" of ego or anger. It is a reflection on living with a clear purpose: being soft enough to care for others, yet strong enough to stay grounded in what is right.
When we live this way, we naturally become a source of comfort for those around we love and a steady light in difficult times.
Today’s Practice:
Today, try to notice the "saints" and "demons" within your own mind. Make a conscious effort to protect your inner peace by choosing patience over frustration when things don't go as planned.
If a negative thought or an impulse of ego arises, acknowledge it and gently set it aside, just as a guardian clears the path of obstacles. By actively standing up for your own kindness and discipline, you are practising a form of quiet strength.
Ending the day with this focus helps you stay grounded and ensures your energy is spent on what truly matters.
Inner Action Step:
Focus on being a silent guardian of your own peace today. When you feel a spark of irritation or a judgmental thought, treat it as an external "intruder" and choose not to give it space in your mind.
Instead, actively nurture a single positive quality, such as gratitude or calm, as if you are protecting something very precious. This shift in focus is a powerful exercise in self-discipline that helps you stay centered regardless of the world around you.
By doing this, you aren't just reacting to life; you are intentionally choosing which version of yourself to bring forward.
