A CALL TO PRAYER!
In these days of uncertainty, fear, and the threat of violence among nations, we are drawn to the merciful Heart of our Lord and implore His divine protection over our beloved land of Trinidad and Tobago.
As Our Lord said to St. Faustina: “Pray as much as you can for your country. Beg My mercy for it.” (Diary 570)
And further, in one of our Lord’s instructions to her, He said:
“Make a novena for your country. This novena will consist of the recitation of the Litany of the Saints. Ask your confessor for permission.” (Diary 59)
“I received permission … and began the novena … Towards the end of the litany I saw a great radiance … and I understood that it was for the sake of Jesus that God blesses the earth.” (Diary 60)
Responding to this call, the Missionaries of the Divine Mercy at the Sanctuary of the Holy Family invite you and your parish community to join us in a National Prayer Initiative/ Novena for the Protection and Peace of Trinidad and Tobago, and for the conversion of hearts among our leaders, that they may choose the path of peace rather than war.
We encourage each parish to dedicate a special time — before or after Holy Mass, during Eucharistic Adoration, or as part of parish devotions — to unite in these prayers, As St. Faustina’s homeland responded to such prayer with divine blessing (cf. Diary 39: “For your sake I bless the entire country”).
May our united prayer rise as incense before the Throne of God and draw down His mercy upon our beloved nation and the world.
