When Jesus says, “I am the bread of life,” He is not speaking symbolically alone—He is revealing who He truly is.
In the wilderness, God fed His people with manna… but they still died.
Now, in the Gospel of John, Jesus offers something greater:
👉 Himself.
He is the Bread that truly satisfies—
not just physical hunger, but the deep hunger of the human heart:
the hunger for love
for meaning
for God
To “come to Him” is to believe, to trust, and to enter into relationship with Him.
And this promise finds its fullness in the Eucharist—
where Jesus gives us not a symbol, but His very Body and Blood.
As taught in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Eucharist is the true Bread from Heaven, the source of our life in Christ.
Today, let us hear His invitation again:
“Come to Me.”
Not to the things that fade…
but to the One who alone satisfies.
🙏 Lord Jesus, Bread of Life, draw us closer to You. Fill the hunger of our hearts with Your presence, especially in the Holy Eucharist. Amen.
