Today, as we remember and celebrate the birthday of our beloved Father in faith, Rev. Dr. Irvin E. Smith, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the gift that he was to us.
He was far more than a pastor. He was a spiritual father who nurtured and guided us in our walk with God; a trusted friend who shared our joys and sorrows; a wise counsellor whose words brought comfort and direction; and, when needs arose, a generous helper who quietly extended a helping hand. To many, he was a source of strength, encouragement, and hope.
His love for God was reflected in his love for people. He served faithfully, shepherding his congregation with compassion and devotion while reaching beyond the church walls to touch the lives of countless individuals in the community. His life was a testimony of selfless service, unwavering faith, and genuine care for others.
Though we miss his presence, we rejoice in the legacy he has left behind. The seeds of faith he planted, the lives he influenced, and the love he shared continue to bear fruit. His memory remains a blessing, and his example continues to inspire us.
On this special day, we honour his life, celebrate his impact, and thank God for the privilege of having known and loved him.
He remains forever remembered, deeply loved, and never forgotten.
