Through John’s baptism, a man repented of his sins and was therefore ready to believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John’s baptism was a prefiguration of what the Savior would accomplish. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross completely washes away our sins, and we are resurrected to new life by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thus, Christian baptism by immersion in water now signifies not only cleansing but also immersion in the death of the Savior in order to become a participant in His glorious resurrection. Christian baptism signifies the complete cleansing, initiation, enlightenment, and transformation of a human being.

Крещением Иоанна человек каялся в своих грехах и, следовательно, был готов уверовать в Господа и Спаса нашего Иисуса Христа. Крещение Иоанна было прообразом того, что совершит Спаситель. Жертва Иисуса на кресте полностью смывает наши грехи, и мы воскресаем к новой жизни силой Святого Духа. И таким образом, христианское крещение через погружение в воду теперь означает не только очищение, но и погружение в смерть Спасителя для того чтобы стать участником и Его светлого воскресения. Христианское крещение представляет собой полное очищение, посвящение, просвещение, и преображение человека.

Yahya’nın vaftiziyle, bir adam günahlarından tövbe etti ve böylece Rabbimiz ve Kurtarıcımız İsa Mesih’e iman etmeye hazır hale geldi. Yahya’nın vaftizi, Kurtarıcı’nın yerine getireceği şeyin ön bildirimiydi. İsa’nın çarmıhtaki kurbanı günahlarımızı tamamen temizler ve Kutsal Ruh’un kudretiyle yeni hayata diriliriz. Öyleyse, bütünüyle suya batırma yoluyla yapılan Hristiyan vaftizi artık sadece arınmayı değil, Kurtarıcı’nın ölümüne gömülmeyi ve O’nun muhteşem dirilişine iştirak etmeyi de ifade eder. Hristiyan vaftizi, bir insanın tamamıyla arınması, inisiyasyonu, aydınlanması ve dönüşümü anlamına gelir.

As the Son of God, the young Jesus is among the teachers, inspiring them with wisdom and instructing them. He asks the teachers questions, not to learn himself, but rather to teach them by asking them questions. In this way, Christ reveals Himself as the only Teacher. Nevertheless, the Lord sends His disciples to teach, but He forbids them from being called masters, for He is the only true Teacher, who brought His teaching from Heaven and revealed it to the world. He is the Teacher of saving and heavenly teaching, and His disciples are merely bearers of His teaching, and as such, they must transmit His teaching exactly as they were taught, without adding or subtracting anything.

Allah’ın Oğlu olarak, küçük İsa öğretmenlerin arasındadır, onlara bilgelikle ilham verir ve onları eğitir. We are certainly celebrating an event from the past, but one that already introduces us to the future, to the coming Kingdom of God. Indeed, the Kingdom of God awaited in the future comes to us in the person of the Son and Word of God, born today of the Virgin in Bethlehem. Through this cosmic event, Christianity certainly distinguishes itself from all other religions, and in a certain sense, ceases to be a religion, because no religion has ever witnessed the incarnation of God, nor can any claim to provide access to the divinization of the human being. The Spirit of Christmas

God is love (1 John 4:16). God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him (1 John 4:16). This is the true spirit of Christmas.

On 7 January, the faithful of the Holy Metropolis of Pisidia celebrated Christmas according to the Julian calendar. On the same day, one devoted parishioner of the church of Saint Alypios in Antalya celebrated her 70th birthday. She is a pillar of that church for the last 15 years, serving the community with generosity and in such a very discreet way, that very few people notice what she is doing. Her name is Babushka Sophia. When we greeted her on that day and thanked her for everything she is doing for the community, she told us: “I love you all”!” This is the true spirit of Christmas. This is the true spirit of Christianity. Many years to Babushka Sophia!

Дух Рождества

Бог есть любовь (1 Иоанна 4:16). Ибо так возлюбил Бог мир, что отдал Сына Своего Единородного, дабы всякий верующий в Него, не погиб, но имел жизнь вечную (Иоанна 3:16). Бог есть любовь, и пребывающий в любви пребывает в Боге, и Бог в нем (1 Иоанна 4:16). Это истинный дух Рождества.

7 января верующие Священной Писидийской митрополии отмечали Рождество по юлианскому календарю. В тот же день одна преданная прихожанка церкви Святого Алипия в Анталии отметила свое 70-летие. Она является опорой этой церкви последние 15 лет, щедро и так незаметно служа общине, что мало кто замечает, что она делает. Ее зовут Бабушка София. Когда мы приветствовали её в тот день и благодарили за всё, что она делает для общины, она сказала нам: «Я вас всех люблю!». Это истинный дух Рождества. Это истинный дух христианства. Многая и благая лета бабушке Софии!

The suprarational event of the Incarnation is experienced and repeated spiritually in the life of the faithful, who love the epiphany of the Savior Christ. As St. Maximus the Confessor writes: “The Word of God was once born in the flesh, but desires always to be born in the spirit out of love for those who desire it.” In this sense, the Feast of the Nativity, of the divine Incarnation and the deification of humankind by grace, does not direct us to an event of the past, but guides us to the “future city,” to the heavenly kingdom of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Премысленный факт Воплощения живется и воспринимается духовно в жизни верных, возлюбивших явление Спасителя Христа. Как пишет Святой Максим Исповедник, «Слово Божие, однажды рожденное по плоти, вследствие человеколюбия Своего желает всегда рождаться по духу в хотящих этого». В этом смысле, праздник Рождества Христова, Воплощения Бога и по благодати обожения человека, не обращается к событию прошлого, а направляет к «будущему граду», к вечному Царству Отца и Сына и Святого Духа.
