Who we are? We are the students who came to Turkey for pursuing higher education and studying in different universities and different departments. We came from a particular geographical part of the world which is called South Asia. We are Muslims and we want to preserve our Islamic identity as we all came from conservative Muslim families. We all had achieved necessary Islamic educations and accep
ted Islam as our code of life already and give priority to religious values in every step of our life. Why we are together? We as the people of South Asia share almost same cultures, values and norms. More over as we all are Muslims; it makes us closer to each other. In a foreign country it is always make people feel good to see people of common cultures, backgrounds and philosophy. These similarities have created a bond, a brotherhood, a feeling of care among us. When we see each other we feel like we have seen our own brothers our own family members and under any circumstances we try to support or help our brothers as our Prophet taught us by establishing brotherhood among his companions. We wanted to give our fraternity a name and we all decided to get together under the banner of SAYO (South Asian Youth Organization)
Our Missions
As Muslim, our main mission is to achieve Allah’s pleasure, mercy and salvation. For these we have to follow the path Allah has showed us by the holy book and by our Prophet. We all want to follow the path of our prophet and establish a strong brotherhood among the South Asian brothers as well as with the local Turkish Muslim brothers. Such brotherhood had been established by our great prophet Mohammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa alihis salam) among the Ansars and the Muhajirs. As we are students our second mission is to complete our academic career in a very good way so that we can be assets for Muslim Ummah and serve for the humanity and justice according to our Prophet’s teachings .Our mission is to integrate with our Muslim brothers and gather experiences and use them in our respective countries. Turkey is a very significant country because of its past history and it’s geographical situation. We are very thankful to come to Turkey and we believe by the mercy of Allah we with our Turkish Muslim brothers will be able to bring many positive changes for Muslim Ummah. May Allah our lord be our guide. Our Visions
Today’s student is tomorrow’s leader. From the history we have seen that few but capable and efficient people can change the fortune of a nation. South Asia is the place where half of the Muslim population dwells. The socio economic situation of the Muslims is not very good there. Honest, capable and a leader with high spirituality and morality can be seen very rare. SAYO is trying to develop those capabilities among it’s members with the help of local Turkish Muslim brothers, so that in future these student members can contribute something to change their respective country in a positive manner. Turkey is more developed than South Asia in technology and administration. Our aim is to be a bridge between Turkish and South Asian Muslims so that we can develop the fields we are lacking behind with the help of our Turkish Muslim brothers. Economy is a very important thing. We as SAYO want to help our Turkish Muslim brothers to establish very strong economic and commercial ties with the Muslim of South Asia. We are willing to help them in best possible ways. After the Migration to Medina our great prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wa alihis salam) had done three jobs firstly. Established brotherhood among the migrants and the locals, build a mosque and open a market in Medina to enter the economy. We as migrants in Turkey are having the same visions and missions.
