Did you know that according to scientists the odds of you being born are about one in four hundred trillion or more? A miracle means something is so unlikely it is pretty much impossible. By that definition, you are a miracle!

To be fearfully [lovingly] and wonderfully made means you are not an accident. God knit you together in your mother’s womb and you have been made with love, dignity, purpose, wonder, and awe. There is nothing you can do to add or take away from your inherent worth.

When the world tells you that you are defined by your struggles, accomplishments, or appearance, hide in God, the Author of your life and the source of your true value, identity, and worth. In Him, your true identity and worth can never be shaken.

Invite God’s presence throughout the day as you go about your ordinary activities. Take moments to pause and meditate on His goodness and thank Him for being with you as you work. It may feel unusual to you at times, but as you cultivate greater intimacy it eventually becomes as normal as breathing.

Whatever you are hungry for when it comes to growing in your relationship with God, He will satisfy it. Expect His presence to transform you from the inside out.

In times of uncertainty we can choose joy in the present instead of fear over the future, and bless God as a result. We can let Him take care of each tomorrow, since He loves us more than anything else in creation. What a great blessing! What a reassuring gift!

As you pray, thank God for today, and tomorrow, and that He holds both.

In the Christian life, God is our keeper; our constant, our protection. The writer of Psalm 121 reminds us that our help comes from the very creator of heaven and earth (v. 2). Our keeper watches our steps (v. 3), and as tired as we may be, He will not fall asleep on the job (v. 4). Verse 7 highlights the extreme care God has for us, stating “The LORD . . . will keep your life.”

Perhaps you feel as though you are losing in life right now. The opposition, whatever that may be or represent, has dealt a substantial blow that landed hard. If you are nodding in agreement right now, remember that God is your defender, and you can trust Him. His mighty hand has deflected shots you were never aware of. He provides shade in which you can rest (v. 5). He is your ultimate safety net. “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one” (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

As you pray, praise God for being your constant keeper.

We live in an age where there are numerous things vying for the right to cause anxiety. Some of these may be considered important by the culture’s standards; others may only be important to us. Regardless, all are objects worthy of our Lord’s concern.

As you pray, give all of your cares to the God that cares for you.
