"We are NOT TO PLEASE THE WORLD,
But we are TO PREACH THE WORD!" 📖
- Pastor Macy
Last Sunday Service at Encounter Lighthouse Church Rayong, we were blessed by the message “The Bold Proclamation of the Word,” preached by Pastor Macy. We were brought to Acts 4, where Peter and John boldly preached about Jesus—even in the face of opposition, warnings, and threats.
The problem was clear:
“But to keep them from spreading their propaganda any further, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in Jesus’ name again.” So they called the apostles back in and commanded them never again to speak or teach in the name of Jesus.”
— Acts of the Apostles 4:17-18 NLT
But their response was not fear, it was PRAYER.
“And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.”
— Acts of the Apostles 4:29 NLT
And God answered.
“After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”
— Acts of the Apostles 4:31 NLT
We are reminded that:
𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁.
It is a Spirit-empowered confidence to speak the truth despite fear or opposition.
“We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.” — Acts 4:20
✨ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗹?
✅ To redirect those with misplaced zeal (Romans 10:2)
✅ To testify of what we have seen and heard (1 John 1:1)
✅ To bring salvation to all people (Titus 2:11–12)
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺?
✅ Every day (Acts 5:42)
✅ Every opportunity (Colossians 4:5–6)
✅ Anytime—whether convenient or not (2 Timothy 4:2)
✅ As we go (Matthew 28:19–20)
Because the truth is:
“How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear unless someone tells them?”
Church, we are called to speak.
Not when it’s easy. Not when it’s comfortable. But whenever God gives the opportunity. 🤲
The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early church is in us today. ✨
So let us be filled with the Holy Spirit, step out in faith, and boldly proclaim the Word of God—no matter the fear, no matter the response. ✨
May we become unstoppable witnesses, declaring what we have seen and heard, and pointing people to Jesus wherever we go. 🙏
