1) God uses broken relationships to accomplish His purpose
The separation of Paul and Barnabas
Sometimes God used the separation
We have differences
Though we do not think alike may it not be a cause do destroy the church
Sometimes someone's failure
God allows separation because He is multiplying
II) God develops people before He uses them
2 Timothy 2:2-4
Paul pointed Timothy to Christ
Paul invested in Timothy
God is more concerned about what we are becoming more than what we have accomplished
Mary and Martha
Mary chose the good part
Martha was busy with work
Jesus rebuked Martha because of her attitude
The old members should find someone to disciple and the new members should be teacheable
God directs those who are willing to follow
Acts 16: 6-10
The Spirit suffered them not. A vision of a man calling from Macedonia
Paul surrendered his plans and followed God's direction
A closed door is not rejection but a redirection
Later, we will realize that God's will is the best
We should not fight God's guidance
4) God opens hearts through the power of the Gospel
Acts 16: 14
God opened the heart of Lydia
Only God can transform a person
The evangelistic mission is always urgent
I still have people there, go and preach the Gospel
Our community seem to be resistant but we must be consistent in trying to win them
What should I do to be saved?
God wants to hear you sing
True joy comes from God, not our circumstances
Faith does not wait for circumstances to improve before trusting God
Never be afraid to trust an unknown future with God who is great
The Gospel must be shared to everyone, every class, every race, every age, every creature
God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply

When the Salt Loses Its Savor

I) The Character of the Salt
Ye are the salt of the earth
Our lives should have a godly influence to the world around them
A) Salt is distinct from itd surroundings
Romans 12:2
The world should not determine our belief or conduct
Being different does not mean we are better than them
Our Christianity should not be limited on Sunday
It should determine how we treat people, how we make decisions
B) Salt must be present where it can influence
John 17:18
God has placed us in a place for a reason
Our workplaces, our neighborhood, our communities becomes an opportunity to share that Gospel
The Christian life is more than coming to church
We go back to the world to live for Christ
We grow in church and scatter the Word to people around us
C) Salt is meant to make a difference
Jesus did not say that we are the salt of the church but we are the salt of the world
Titus 2:10
We can show people what a transformed life looks like
What kind of salt am I?
Am I making a difference
II) The Crisis of Salt
Matthew 5:13
If the salt has lost it savor, wherewith shall it be salted?
Salt that has become useless
It is about the effectiveness of our testimony
A) Salt can lose its usefulness
I Corinthians 10:12
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall
We need repentance when we sin and continue to grow in grace
We cannot brag about yesterday
Do not allow your testimony for Christ be ineffective
B) Compromise destroys our testimony
I John 2:15
A neglected prayer life
A careless word spoken
We should ask what is shaping me
Is Christ shaping my desires and decision
C) A weak testimony diminishes our witness
Philippians 2:15
Why the world so dark? Am I shining as a light
When people are angry, let us show kindness
III) The Calling of salt and light
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify the Father in heaven
A) Shine where God has placed you
Matthew 5:14
Acts 1:8
Your school, your community, your workplace is your mission field
B) Shine so people see Christ
Matt 5:16
The goal is so that people will look at Christ
When we forgive, do kind things, it should point to Christ
We are not the source of light, Christ is
When our lives point to Jesus thn we have achieved the purpose of God
C) Romans 10:14
Missions matters
Mission is about making converts around the world
Every believer can participate
We can pray, give, go to the mission field, support and pray for missionaries
Mission is about making the gospel known
Ye are the light of the world
The world is dark and people need the gospel. The field is white unto harvest but where are the reapers
Am I living for Christ?
1) What kind of salt am I?
2) How brightly am I shining?
3) What part will I have in taking the gospel to the world?
Be a salt and make Christ known
