An update from Beverley Kalnin, FLC co-founder, regarding her health situation. Please keep praying for her.
"First of all I would like to thank you so much for praying for me. I felt Jesus comforting me all the time in the hospital. I had my surgery, laparoscopic hysterectomy, last Friday starting at 8 am and I wasn't back in my room until 8 pm! I had 9 hours of surgery with one hour preparation and two hours resting in another room. Church members from Beulah were there praying for me and concerned about such a long surgery. Thankfully, I slept through it all. The doctor operated on me very slowly as I was given a shot to prevent blood clots. However, the good news is that it was successful. The first day I was in very little pain but very sleepy. The custom here in Thailand is that a family member or friend stays with you in the room and cares for you. I had two young caretakers, Kittiya and Apinya who lovingly and patiently stayed with me through it all. My daughter Sonya had to coach online to people overseas at night time so couldn't stay in the hospital but visited during the day along with Beulah church members. The nurses were so attentive, gentle and caring. The last day I gave out Christian tracts to them and found out that almost all of them were Christians! So, my experience in the hospital was very good except for having to wear a hospital longyi that kept falling down and the blanket was a very rough towel.
My pain increased after the first day and only today I feel a little better. I know that is expected after surgery so I grin and bear it. My uterus was removed for fear of cancer and they are doing a biopsy of it now. I will get the result Monday night, Please pray it is not cancerous. I am now resting at Kalnin Leadership Center and being well cared for. The FLC ladies take turns staying with me at night. My plan is to stay here until after my doctor's appointment next Monday where I will get the result of the biopsy and the doctor will check if all is ok with me. They gave me very strong medicines and after having hallucinations at night and not feeling well, I looked them up online. Some are not approved in America and some have dangerous side effects so I stopped taking all of them except the antibiotics as I must complete the full course. I feel better without them! I am walking around KLC and the ladies have prepared very delicious and healthy meals for me so what more could I ask for! I feel your prayers upholding me and all your love and concern means so much to me. Pray that the pain will be gone soon and I will be restored to even better health than before.
Our Thailand Christmas Evangelists Seminar is from December 4th-7th. I am overseeing that seminar so please pray for that too. Our theme is "The Light of the World is Jesus." We will have teaching, preaching, testimonies, prayer, praise and worship and fun activities too. Sonya will teach one class on personal development, a subject she now coaches. Last night will be a big bonfire and barbecue and lots of Christmas songs and sharing. This is our last seminar for the year so we pray our evangelists and church leaders will be inspired, encouraged and empowered for the New Year of 2024!
Thank you so much for your prayers and concern!
May Jesus fill you with His Love, Joy and Hope,
Beverley "
