Meet Karla 🙋🏽‍♀️

Karla is a faithful and hardworking servant based in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She serves as our Kids Ministry and Missions Operations Coordinator, but, if you know Karla, you know she wears many hats and is always willing to jump in where needed.

Karla leads Kids Class each week both in Rancho Bonito and at Iglesia Sublime Gracia. She serves with her husband, Poite, at Iglesia Sublime Gracia, working to share the good news of Jesus with the community.

Karla also works directly with all our short-term mission teams, coordinating weekly activities and leading them as they join in the work of ministry in San Pedro Sula! So, if you’re coming on a team with us in 2026, you’ll be able to see Karla in action!

Pray for Karla as she continues to work in every way for God’s glory! 🧡

As our leaders in Honduras, Peru, Thailand, and restricted areas are empowered to know God and serve Him in their communities, we watch those very communities be transformed!

The 10-40 window is a horizontal area of the world map where the large majority of the world’s unreached and unengaged peoples live. According to the Joshua Project, “approximately 63% of the individuals in the 10/40 Window live in an unreached people group.” 🌏

This area is home to the majority of the world’s individuals practicing Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism. This area is also home to the majority of the world’s impoverished population.

There is great need for aid, investment, and, most importantly, evangelism in the 10/40 window. Pray for our Sparrow Team in Northern Thailand, living and working in a predominantly Buddhist context where the majority of individuals do not know Christ. Pray that hearts would be open to the truth of the gospel. 🙏🏽

Our local leaders in Honduras, Peru, Thailand, and restricted areas are choosing small acts of obedience each day, faithfully serving right where God has them. 📍

They are showing up, speaking life, sharing truth, and showing the love of Christ. 🤍

And, we are watching communities be transformed by the power of the Gospel and the faithfulness of leaders like this.

Small acts of obedience truly do impact entire communities for the sake of the kingdom! 👏🏽

Purpose

The purpose of Sparrow Missions is founded on the verses Luke 12: 6-7: “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

Our purpose is simple: ministry, energy, and resources focused on those who have been forgotten by the world, but not by God. This has led us to the poorest of the poor and those abandoned by their parents, families, and communities.
