‘เมื่อตัดสินใจเชื่อพระเจ้าได้ไม่นาน เพียงเพื่อหวังว่าอาการป่วยของสามีจะดีขึ้น แต่ความเป็นจริงกลับตรงกันข้าม เพราะผ่านไปแค่สัปดาห์เดียวอาการของเขากลับทรุดลง จนท้ายที่สุดคนที่เธอรักก็ได้จากไปอย่างสงบ’
นี่คือจุดเริ่มต้นของเรื่องราวแห่งความเชื่อของคุณแม่ของพัตเตอร์ ที่ชวนให้นึกสงสัยว่า หากเรื่องเหล่านี้เกิดขึ้นกับเราเอง เราจะยังคงเชื่อพระเจ้าอยู่หรือไม่?
ย้อนไปเมื่อคราวที่คุณพ่อของพัตเตอร์ล้มป่วย เธอได้ตัดสินใจนำสังฆทานมาให้พ่อได้อธิษฐานขอพร โดยหวังว่าอาการจะกลับมาดีขึ้น แต่คุณแม่ของเธอกลับไม่รู้สึกเช่นนั้น และไม่เชื่อว่าสิ่งนี้จะช่วยสามีของตนได้ ทำให้แม่เลือกโทรหาญาติคนหนึ่ง ซึ่งเป็นคริสเตียนที่มักมีเรื่องเล่าถึงการอัศจรรย์ที่พระเจ้าทำในชีวิตให้ฟังเสมอ พร้อมกับบอกเขาว่า “อยากรู้จักพระเจ้า”
หลังจากนั้นไม่นาน คุณพ่อกับคุณแม่ของพัตเตอร์ก็ได้ตัดสินใจต้อนรับพระเยซูมาเป็นพระผู้ช่วยให้รอดในชีวิต ขณะที่เธอเองยังคงอยู่ในความเชื่อเดิม ซึ่งต่อมาพระเจ้าก็ไม่ได้ทำการรักษาพ่อให้หายดีอย่างที่คุณแม่หวังไว้ เหตุการณ์ครั้งนี้ได้ทิ้งคำถามไว้ในใจของคุณแม่ต่อมาว่า ‘เพราะอะไร ทำไมพระเจ้าถึงไม่ช่วย?’
แม้จะดูเหมือนเป็นจุดเปลี่ยนที่ทำให้คน ๆ หนึ่งเลิกศรัทธาได้ แต่คุณแม่ของพัตเตอร์ก็ยังคงอธิษฐานและดำเนินกับพระเจ้าต่อมา เพราะพระองค์ได้ทำให้แม่ผ่านช่วงเวลาแห่งความโศรกเศร้ามาได้ ด้วยพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ที่คอยประคองปกป้องแม่เอาไว้ ซึ่งเป็นภาพที่แม่ได้รับหลังเกิดการสูญเสีย นี่เองจึงทำให้เขาสามารถนอนหลับอย่างสนิทได้ในทุกคืน
1 ปีต่อมา เกิดเหตุไม่คาดฝันอีกครั้งคือ คุณแม่ของเธอได้ล้มลงและกระดูกสันหลังหักต้องเข้ารับการรักษาที่โรงพยาบาล และพี่น้องทางคริสตจักรก็มาเยี่ยมเยียนและอธิษฐานเผื่อคุณแม่ ซึ่งนี่เองคือวาระเวลาที่พัตเตอร์ได้เปิดใจให้กับพระเจ้าอย่างแท้จริง
“วันนั้น พี่เกรซ (พี่น้องในคริสตจักร) บอกว่า พระเจ้ารู้ว่าพัตเหนื่อยและพระเจ้าจะช่วยพัต ช่วงชีวิตในตอนนั้น พัตแตกสลายมาก คุณพ่อเสีย คุณแม่ล้ม พัตต้องออกจากอาชีพแอร์โฮสเตส หย่ากับสามี และมีหนี้สินอีกประมาณ 3 ล้านบาท แต่พัตก็ตัดสินใจเชื่อพระเจ้า พระเจ้าของคุณแม่ พระเจ้าที่คุณแม่เชื่อ” พัตเตอร์กล่าว
การอัศจรรย์ได้เกิดขึ้นกับเธออย่างรวดเร็ว เธอได้งานใหม่ที่ดีผ่านเพื่อนในคริสตจักร พระเจ้าเยียวยาแผลใจจากการหย่าร้าง พระเจ้าปลดหนี้ทั้งหมดให้ และที่สำคัญคุณแม่ของเธอหายดีและแข็งแรงมากขึ้นกว่าเดิม
“ด้วยชีวิตของคุณแม่ที่แสวงหาและเชื่อในพระเจ้า แม้ว่าเชื่อแล้วจะไม่ได้เป็นดั่งที่หวัง แต่คุณแม่ก็ไม่เคยหยุดพึ่งพาพระเจ้า และในวันที่คุณแม่ป่วยนั้น กลับกลายเป็นวันที่พัตได้รับความรอด พัตได้รู้จักพระเจ้า ผ่านชีวิตของคุณแม่จริง ๆ พัตเห็นแผนการของพระเจ้าในครอบครัว เห็นการส่งต่อจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น และพัตก็คาดหวังว่า ชีวิตของพัตจะเป็นอย่างเช่นคุณแม่ที่สามารถทำให้ พี่ชาย เพื่อนสนิท และคนอื่น ๆ มาเชื่อในพระเจ้าได้เช่นกัน” เธอกล่าว
เรื่องราวในครั้งนี้ เปรียบเสมือนบทเรียนแห่งความเชื่อที่สำคัญ เพราะบางครั้งคำตอบของพระเจ้าก็ไม่ได้ตรงกับใจเราเสมอไป แต่นั่นก็ไม่ได้หมายความว่ามันเกิดขึ้นเพื่อจะทำร้ายเรา หากแต่ทำให้ได้พบกับคำตอบใหม่ที่เกินความรู้ ความเข้าใจ จนนำไปสู่การช่วยกู้ชีวิตผู้คนอีกมากมายได้ เพียงเพราะความเชื่อที่ไม่ย่อท้อ แม้ไม่เป็นไปดั่งใจก็ตาม
ขอให้เรายังคงยึดมั่นในความหวังที่ประกาศรับไว้นั้นโดยไม่หวั่นไหว เพราะว่าพระองค์ผู้ประทานพระสัญญานั้นทรงซื่อสัตย์-ฮีบรู 10:23

“Shortly after deciding to believe in God—with the simple hope that her husband’s illness would improve—reality turned completely against her. Within just one week, his condition worsened, and ultimately, her beloved husband passed away peacefully.”
This is where the story of faith began for Putter’s mother—a story that begs the question: If this happened to us, would we still hold on to our faith in God?
Looking back to when Putter’s father first fell ill, Putter decided to bring Buddhist offerings for him to pray with, hoping his condition would improve. Her mother, however, felt differently in her heart and did not believe it would help. She chose instead to call a Christian relative who had often shared testimonies of God’s miracles in her life, and told her simply, “I want to know God.”
Shortly thereafter, both Putter’s father and mother accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, while Putter remained in her previous faith. Yet, God did not heal her father as her mother had hoped. The tragic loss left a lingering question in her mother’s heart: “Why? Why didn’t God intervene?”
While such an event could easily cause anyone to lose faith, Putter’s mother continued to pray and walk with God. The Lord sustained her through her deepest grief. After the loss, she received a vision of God’s hands holding and protecting her—a divine comfort that allowed her to sleep each night peacefully.
A year later, the unexpected struck again: her mother suffered a severe fall, fractured her spine, and was hospitalized. Brothers and sisters from the church came to visit and pray over her. It was in that very season that Putter’s heart opened to God for the first time.
“That day, Sister Grace from church told me, ‘God knows you’re exhausted, and He is going to help you.’ At that time, my life was completely shattered. My father had passed away, my mother had fallen ill, I had to leave my job as a flight attendant, I went through a divorce, and I was carrying around three million baht in debt. But I decided to put my faith in God—my mother’s God, the God she so faithfully trusted,” Putter recalled.
God's miraculous work unfolded rapidly in her life. She found a great new job through friends at church, God healed her broken heart from the divorce, completely cleared her debts, and most importantly, her mother recovered fully and grew even stronger than before.
“Through my mother’s life—continually seeking and believing in God, even when things didn’t turn out as she had hoped—she never stopped relying on Him. The day my mother fell ill turned out to be the day I received salvation. I truly came to know God through my mother's life. I saw God's purposeful plan for our family, passed down from generation to generation. And I pray that my life, just like my mother’s, will lead my brother, close friends, and many others to believe in Jesus too,” she shared.
This story is a powerful reminder of what faith really means: God’s answers don’t always match what we want. But that doesn’t mean He allows these things to hurt us. Instead, they open the door to something greater than we could ever imagine—bringing hope and salvation to many more lives, simply through a faith that never gives up, even when things don’t go as hoped.
