The World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB) has issued a prayer for world peace.

I would like to share its message here.

Last year, the All Japan Buddhist Conference in Osaka was held under the theme:

“Infinite Life — Cherishing All Living Beings.”

The prayer that we shared and aspired to on that occasion seems to resonate deeply with the spirit of these words.

In the light of the Buddha’s teachings,
I sincerely pray that our world may become a place where all beings can live in peace and harmony.

15 years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake. All Japan Buddhist Youth Association, All Japan Soto Zen Young Priests Association, the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY), together with young monks in Japan, has been earnestly engaged in relief efforts since the disaster's onset.

On March 10th, the day before the anniversary, we will hold the "Great East Japan Earthquake Memorial and Recovery Prayer Service" at the sutra-copying pagoda erected within the grounds of Seirinji Temple in Date City, Fukushima Prefecture—a place of vows for recovery. Simultaneously, we will stream the service online, delivering prayers from across Japan and the world to the hearts of people both within and outside the disaster-affected areas. On this day, we will also perform the dedication of sutra copies gathered from across Japan.

Young monks gathering from all over the country to the disaster area, as well as those participating online, will unite their thoughts in prayer. We sincerely hope that our sentiments reach all viewers, and that together, we can join hands, connecting the memories and prayers of that day to the future.

March 11, 2025 will mark the 14th anniversary of the disaster. We have been working diligently to support the victims of the disaster from the very beginning of the disaster.
On March 10, the Soto Zen Buddhist Youth Association, the All Japan Young Buddhist Association, and the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) will jointly hold a memorial service for the 14th anniversary of the disaster and a prayer service for reconstruction, at the Place of Pledge for Reconstruction, the Sutra Pagoda erected in Jorinji Temple in Date City, Fukushima Prefecture.
We will also hold a memorial service for those who lost their lives in the many natural disasters that occurred this year.
We will also broadcast the event online to send prayers from all over Japan and the world to the hearts of people in the affected areas.

*Passing away of WFBY's Advisor: Brother Mooi Chee Onn (BGF Malaysia)*

Aniccā vata saṅkhārā, uppādavayadhammino,uppajjitvā nirujjhanti, tesaṃ vūpasamo sukho 🙏

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved advisor, and Dharma Brother, Mooi Chee Onn.

He left us peacefully on 13 January 2025, Mon at 3.30am (Malaysian time)

His kindness, wisdom, and generosity will always be remembered by all whom he had inspired.

Let us keep him in our hearts and continue to dedicate our positive merits to him.

Anyone can participate for free.
We will explain the basic manners in English carefully so that even beginners can easily understand.
You can experience a quiet and calm time a little away from your busy life.
