On a warm Mother's Day last year, our journey to the hospital was filled with anticipation and a sense of purpose. Little did we know, it would lead us to a remarkable encounter with Auntie Grace. As we stepped into the hospital corridors, we were greeted by the vibrant energy of a lovely, young-at-heart elderly lady, whose open arms welcomed us with unexpected warmth.
We sang two songs, serenading her with melodies that echoed through the sterile halls. Her smile, radiant and genuine, encouraged us to continue, and so we did. With each note, her joy seemed to grow, filling the room with an atmosphere of gratitude and connection.
In between songs, we engaged in conversation, asking about her well-being and any prayer requests she might have. Her response was simple yet profound—she requested more music. It was a request we gladly fulfilled, knowing that the simple act of singing brought her immense joy.
Despite her hospital confinement, Auntie Grace's thoughts were elsewhere—her family, scattered across the USA and Thailand. Their well-being was her constant prayer, a testament to her selflessness and love for those dear to her heart.
On a recent visit, we deviated from our usual route through the hospital, unintentionally missing Auntie Grace's room. Yet, her spirit remained undeterred. Through a handwritten note delivered by a kind nurse, she expressed her desire for us to visit her once more, to share our music and words of comfort.
Her persistence touched us deeply, reminding us of the profound impact our ministry has on those confined to hospital beds. Auntie Grace's unwavering faith and appreciation serve as a beacon of hope, inspiring us to continue spreading love and joy through our music.
As we reflect on our encounters with Auntie Grace, we are reminded that even in the most unexpected places, there are moments of grace and connection waiting to be discovered. May our ministry continue to touch the hearts of those in need, bringing comfort and solace in their times of trial.
