A Special Divine Service Highlights Love at the Core of Faith
On January 21, 2026, in Sagbado within the Lomé Aflao district, Lead Apostle Vincent Yedenou reminded the congregation that genuine faithfulness to God must spring from love rather than from the pursuit of rewards. Drawing inspiration from Luke 15:31‑32, his sermon revisited the parable of the prodigal son, focusing especially on the elder brother’s attitude.
During his exhortation, the Lead Apostle urged the faithful to embrace spiritual growth in the new year and to place reconciliation at the forefront of their lives. “The elder brother serves out of obligation, not out of love,” he emphasized, cautioning against a faith that is calculated or self‑interested.
He criticized attitudes of comparison and service driven by the desire for recognition or applause. True joy, he reminded the assembly, is found in the Father’s presence rather than in material blessings symbolized by the fattened calf.
Concluding his message, Lead Apostle Yedenou posed a direct question to the congregation: “And you—what do you focus on in the church? The fattened calf or the presence of the Father?
