Seeing Clearly to Enter the Kingdom of God
On Sunday, July 26, 2026, the Apédokoe congregation in the Lomé Aflao District gathered for a divine service led by lead Apostle Vincent Yedenou. Inspired by Mark 8:25–26, the service focused on the believer's spiritual journey toward a clearer vision of God's Kingdom. The occasion was further enriched by the celebration of Holy Sealing for nineteen believers and the ordination of one deacon and three priests.
The service began with a moving choral performance that prepared the congregation to receive God's word, encouraging everyone to seek the inner transformation that only Jesus Christ can bring.
Reflecting on the healing of the blind man at Bethsaida, the lead Apostle emphasized that the Christian life is a gradual process of gaining spiritual sight. Entering God's Kingdom requires more than physical vision; it calls for hearts that are transformed by God's love and guided by faith. He reminded the congregation that God's greatest expression of power is His love—a love that restores, strengthens, and leads His children every day.
Explaining the biblical account, he highlighted the spiritual significance behind each action of Jesus. Leading the blind man away from the village represents leaving behind the old way of life and everything that separates people from God. The application of saliva to the man's eyes points to Christ's complete self-giving and His continuing work through the Gospel and the sacraments. The second laying on of hands illustrates the work of the Holy Spirit, who gradually opens believers' spiritual eyes until they can clearly recognize God's will.
The lead Apostle also challenged the congregation to look beyond outward appearances. He distinguished between those who merely display the image of being Christians and those whose lives genuinely reflect Christ through humility, forgiveness, faithful service, and sincere devotion. Every believer was encouraged to become a light to others by living out the Gospel in daily life.
Returning to Jesus' instruction that the healed man should not go back to the village, the lead Apostle urged the faithful not to return to their former way of living but to remain steadfast in fellowship with God and faithful to His word.
The divine service concluded with the celebration of Holy Sealing for nineteen souls and the ordination of one deacon and three priests, who were entrusted with serving God and His Church in their new ministries.
May God continue to bless those who received Holy Sealing and grant wisdom, strength, and faithfulness to the newly ordained ministers as they carry out their sacred calling.
