TOPIC: THE SACRIFICE OF SERVICE
TEXTS: DEUT. 6:1-5,15 PHIL.6:13,MATT.26: 41,5:20.
INTRODUCTION
I want to start with a story of a certain man who needed money instead of going to God he went to the Satan and Satan give him money that is enough to get anything money can buy as time goes on he gave birth to a baby boy and a girl the devil demand that he should sacrifice his son which he did, after a while he born another girl followed by a boy making it two boys and two girls but the devil came back and demand the remaining boy for a sacrifice which he did with sorrow that continues, which implies that every male child he gets the devil will demand him for a sacrifice until to an extend this man sees it as vanity upon vanity and stamped himself to death.
Now what is your sacrifice of service? When you see a beautiful girl and wish to marry her you have to sacrifice, if you need a successful business you need a sacrifice because everything on earth needs a sacrifice whether in God or in Satan but know it that Satan’s own doesn’t last, do you want to serve God ? If yes it needs a sacrifice to do that! Tell somebody beside you that to serve God needs a sacrifice, the verse five (5 ) of our texts says “ love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength” have you ever asked yourself what God is talking about when He say you should love Him with all your heart, soul and strength if you understands it you will know that to serve God requires a sacrifice . There is a demand of sacrifice when it comes to using all your heart, soul and strength or power to serve God which means they have no right to withhold anything from God, so whatever you can do with your heart, soul and power God needs them to serve Him.
There is a road that leads to everything in life even unto God there is way to serve him and get all you want but the problem of Christians today is they don’t want to follow the right way, you shall be great and mighty as God’s promise to us is, but it gwill only come to you when you serve Him in the right way but so many people today want a short cut to reach God and that's where they are missing it you might need miracle, healing or prosperity but have you imagined it that you are the miracle you are looking for else where? God want you to reach the level of being a miracle, healing and prosperity but there is a sacrifice for it! When you want to serve God comfortably you are missing it because there will be a time you feel comfortable to pray but your flesh will not be.
Remember our story the man was comfortable in sacrificing his first son and second one but the third one was not easy for him and he take his own life God want a sacrifice from you but thanks to Him that He is not demanding our children or any blood sacrifice because He have already given his only son as a sacrifice to us, whenever you are paying your tithe there will be a time you will not be convince in paying it but it’s only sacrifice it takes for you to continue let me ask you are you a father or a mother at your comfortable state? Can you leave your sick child because you are not planning that sickness? That’s to tell you that to be anything in life you need a sacrifice and no sacrifice asked you whether you are convenice or not, nobody is a father, mother, husband, wife even a child in a convenient way so you have to be ready so that whenever the demand comes you will be ready to meet it but God is able to sacrifice to you anything if only you make him your only father.
The spirt is willing but the flesh is weak according to matt. 26: 41 that means you have to walk in the spirit, so if your spirit is willing to serve God you need to sacrifice your flesh that is always weak, anything you have to do with God but you fail to do it, know it that you are walking in the flesh. Thou shall love the Lord your God with everything in you , if you love God you should Keep His commandments, from the time of John the Baptist the kingdom is not for everybody but only for the violent so why do you goes to church only when you are convenient instead of being there at exalt time? You have to be violent to your flesh when it drawing you back from the things of God, I can do all things through Christ that strengthen me-phli.4: 13 you have to reach a level where you will know where you are and where you are going to, because that's where God want you to be. Leave MAY BE level and come to I KNOW Level for Job said, I know my redeemer liveth he wasn’t doubting his place in God but sure of what God can do to him, so many people are in church today without knowing their position in God they are not sure whether they will make heaven or not and when you are at this level as a Christian your miracle, blessings and prosperity will be under probability when Satan tells you that you are going to die in that situation do you tell him I know my redeemer lives? Remember when you continue to be in MAY BE level God is busy connecting those in I KNOW level .
CONCLUSION
Jesus said in matt. 5:20 “for i tell you unless your righteousness surpasses that of the pharisees and teachers of law you certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven” pharisees pays their tithes attend the service without skipping any but Jesus said your righteousness must exceed theirs for you to make heaven so do you want to follow God? It requires a great sacrifice, the kingdom is here and the violent taketh it! Those that take violent against their flesh to do the work of God are the people that takes the kingdom of miracle, healing, prosperity and every good things that God have promised us. So be violent and enjoy the kingdom that God have promised you in Jesus name!
