The word of God is a direct contradiction to our circumstance and fact. It does not state the obvious. It does not tell us what we know. The word does not tell the rich “you are rich”; the accountants and checkbooks can validate that.

The word is given to address our lack. It tells the poor, ‘you are rich’, the weak ‘you are strong’, the captive ‘you are free’. 1st cor.2:26-29, luk.4:18.
