Pilate, would have given different leadership if the threat of riots and losing his position and influence weren’t there. He surrendered because he feared loss. While it might be quite offensive to compare a pastor to the man who turned Jesus over for death, we must honestly consider the scenario. Instead of doing the right thing, Pilate caved. Pastors are turning on Jesus all too often today by rejecting His directives as they will prove to be too costly. Great loss would certainly come.

Pastors are right. The moment they have a strong opinion and take a strong position on a controversial topic, they absolutely will experience pruning.
While there are some absolutely amazing Churches out there, in most Churches you won’t hear messages that cause any problems with your theology, cause offense or provoke you in any way. When is the last time you heard a message about abortion, homosexuals, po*******hy or other cultural issues? When is the last time your Pastor has pierced the atmosphere with prophetic unction in response to something happening in our society? In some Churches, it happens. In most it does not. Why?

Fear of loss. Pastors can’t afford to lose people, money or their dream of a happy, growing Church.
God, bless you.

It’s also true, that many Pastors are muzzled by their boards, elders and others who exhibit control in the Church. It can be easy to succumb to the demands and expectations of those and others who have the ability to make life difficult If the Pastor doesn’t move in the direction they expect.
The opposite of the fear of man just very well may be the fear of the Lord.
Where is the tremble in our pulpits today? What will it take for the fear of man to be displaced by the fear of the Lord? It’s embarrassing that there is so much fear of man, that Pastors today are working overtime to keep the peace instead of calling people into a place of urgent response to a threatening, deadly spirit of the age.
The sword will divide, and those who are bound by fear of man will keep that sword in their sheath, if they possess one at all.
“A man who is intimate with God is not intimidated by man”- Leonard Ravenhill.
Fear of Loss.
When Pilate saw that he could not prevail, but rather that unrest was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. See to it yourselves”- matt 27:24
I believe the fear of loss is an even greater motivator for pastors to keep their mouths shut than the fear of man is. Today we have Pastors who are wordsmith instead of prophets- experts in framing their words in such a way that no possibility of offense or disagreement is there. They are keenly focused on being balanced, avoiding controversy and developing a happy, encouraging atmosphere in the Church that helps ensure there is no loss. People remain in their seats, money keeps coming in and everybody is happy.

Pastor’s, it’s time to repent for our silence- or step aside. Repent from your tired, unimpressive, and self-centered attempts to grow your Church. Repent from being a wordsmith instead of a Prophet. Repent from being careful when you are called to risk everything. Repent from keeping people happy and controversy at bay. We seem to have lost our voice.

Pastor’s, if you don’t have a prophetic voice, you don’t have a ministry.
We live in a day where babies are being butchered, and many people are campaigning for the slaughter to be extended to those who survive the womb. Homosexuals activism has muzzled so much of the Church as these people force their vile belief on us. Po*******hy and human trafficking are destroying millions. Where is your response?

“If Thou canst do something with us and through us, then please, God, do something without us! Bypass us and take up a people who now know Thee not”! - Leonard Ravenhill, Why Revival Tarries: A classic on Revival.
Here are the Seven reasons:
Fear of Man.
“Casting down imaginations and every high that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”-2 Cor.10:5

Fear of man is possibly the most obvious reason, though I don’t believe it’s the greatest reason in most cases. However, it’s true that many Pastor’s do fear confrontation. They lack confidence in their ability to tear down arguments and to advance with boldness. It’s the Holy Spirit that enables this boldness, and, sadly, it’s true that many Pastors are not filled to overflowing with the activity of the Holy Spirit in their lives, the calling is not enough.

ARTICLE: 7 REASONS PASTOR’S STAY SILENT IN OUR WICKED CULTURE- WORLDWIDE- Part 1

Pastors are refusing to confront culture, sound alarms or to address today’s political crisis- and it may be time to step down. Am using the word “Pastor’s” to represent preachers of the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Are you he that troubles Israel?”
And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and you have followed the Baal’s- I king 18: 17-18

God is raising up a new generation of bold, prophetic messengers who are fearless, broken, and undone by the weight of what’s happening in our world. They couldn’t care less if people leave Churches they minister in. They aren’t looking for accolades or book deals. They are criers in the wilderness, a new breed of burning ones who aren’t into building Churches, but they are very much into confronting culture and shocking the nations with prophetic unction.

We need bold, confrontational leaders formed after the spirit of Elijah, people who are commissioned and unafraid to expose the wickedness in the land. Sadly, it’s rare to find men and women of God like this today.
Though I’m going to share seven reasons Pastors are refusing to confront culture or to dive into politics from the pulpit, the honest truth is that I am so disturbed that I can even have to write about this. How can supposed men and women of God just go on teaching generic Sunday School- style message every Sunday morning when the escalating crisis in the world demands an immediate and spirit-led response?

Esther and Ruth. But when we come to the New testament, we find that even though Jesus chose twelve men to be with Him, women were a vital part of His ministry and the ministry of the early Church. He spoke to, visited, and served with women.
People mean’t more to Jesus than traditions, and His ministry involved everyone- men, women and children. He broke down the wall that separated people, including Jewish tradition, by allowing women to be part of His ministry.
Jesus liberated women and gave them equal status. I believe Churches and denominations must prayerfully and continually study the role of women in ministry. For the church to fulfil our mission, we must continue to value, validate and release all people to fulfil their God called purposes, regardless of age, race or gender.
The time has come for us to be awaken. These are three vital areas in which I believe the Hoy Spirit seeks to stir us in the present season. If we remain silent on these issues and fail to give straight forward answers to probing questions, we then give room for the enemy to cause confusion and create a lack of confidence among God’s people. We must do as scripture instructs us and make sure the trumpet gives a clear call- 1 Cor 14:8.
I do not envision the Church remaining in a valley of dry bones. I see the Spirit of God breaking forth.
I see sons and daughters rising up.
I see a mighty army rising up to storm the strongholds of satan and break down the gates of hell.
Revival is coming to the nations.
God bless you.

Culture. Jesus was often at odds with the leaders and prevailing culture of His time. As we follow Jesus and strive to be like Him, we too we will find ourselves at odds with most of the world today. We can not afford to remain silent when the eternity of souls, the integrity of God’s word and the persecution of the Church is at stake. Homosexuality, abortion, gender identity, feminism and refugee migration are all moral issues we face as a church. For the most part, the Church has remained silent. We slumber while the enemy invades- stealing destinies and robbing us of our witness.
We must look prayerfully and critically within the walls of the Church as well. Sin in the Church, false teaching and poor discipleship must be corrected. For the Church to fulfil her mission in this critical hour, we must unashamedly and correctly preach the truth of God’s word with a spirit of love and hope.
Women. For the most part, what we read in the Bible is about men in leadership. Only two books in the Bible bear the name of women: Esther and Ruth. But when we come to the New testament, we find that even though Jesus chose twelve men to be with Him, women were a vital part of His ministry and the ministry of the early Church. He spoke to, visited, and served with women.

WITNESS TO THE CULTURE

“ To unlock revival, the church must give clear answers to these three issues!

I firmly believe the Spirit is calling for yet another great Awakening.
The challenges of this hour demand a Church that is fervently, humbly and passionately surrendering to the Holy Spirit through prayer and fasting. I believe if the church does not rise and respond to the call of this hour, we stand to miss the greatest revival this world has ever witnessed and so desperately needs.
I believe the spirit is calling for no less than a reformation, with Jesus Christ at the centre of it all.
As I lean in to hear what the Spirit is saying about the hour in which we live, I believe these are specific areas in which He is leading us:
Young adult. Many young adults and professionals are walking away from our Churches. I believe the enemy has convinced many of us that this battle is unwinnable. For many in my generation , we believe this is an issue of commitment -that these young people are drawn to comfort, ease and entertainment.
What we fail to see are the unique passions and desires that God has breathe into them to position them to impact the world.
As I talk to the next generation leaders around the world, I hear a fervent desire to see an authentic move of the Holy Spirit at a level unlike past generation. They have a deep hunger that will only be satisfied by an encounter with a living savior. They want their lives to count for something and are willing to embrace pain and sacrifice to make a difference.
For the Church to fulfil our mission in this critical hour, we must seek ways to not only disciple, but also to empower and release this generation.

I believe generations 3, 4, and 5 must turn their hearts and gifting’s back towards 1 and 2 now, or there won’t be a future Church.

Remember: your future is not in front of you. Its behind you.

We must take a hard look at our churches today and turn our hearts toward the youngest two generations now. If we don’t, there may not be a future church to carry the glory of God forward.

God, bless you.

Notice how this group of children honored the vows of their spiritual father, their ancestors, Jonadab, son of Rechab, throughout succeeding generations. Their obedience to their vows continued from their father’s generation to the present one. Even God was impressed. This was a generational blessing.

Deuteronomy 5:9 says, “You shall not bow down to them, nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands of them that love Me and keep My commandments”.

God’s blessings will only come, and the Church and culture will change, when fathers repent and say, “I’m sorry. I’ve been selfish. I’ve wanted to bless myself. I will turn now and bless the generations behind me: our sons and daughters in Christ”.

I believe there are five generations on the earth at all times. The five generations breakdown based on age, and their description can be clearly seen in both the secular world and in the Church worldwide.

Generation one, the “Blank Tape generation”, consists of those younger than 12. They are easily recorded on by the culture and the generation around them. Generation two, the “No identity generation”, includes 12-to 25 years old’s. They are the fatherless generation, and fathers give them identity.

Generations three, the “consumer generation”, are those ages 25-to 50. They’re out to get everything they can, and enjoy the high and the excitement of the moment. Generation four, the “Satisfied generation”, consists of 50- to 70 year old’s. They have their career and their home, the kids are out, and they are just comfortable in the cruise mode.

Finally, generation five, the “Blessing generation”, consists of those older than 70. They are just waiting and blessing all those around them. They’re the grandparents and great-grandparents.
