Matsapha Africa Evangelical Church is a local assembly of the Africa Evangelical Church – Southern Africa Region. The church is divided into four regions Swaziland, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and Eastern Cape. The Swaziland region is further divided into four sub- regions known as circuits i.e. Bethany (under which Matsapha AEC falls), Mbuluzi, Mbabane and Mankayane. The local churches have autonomy
according to the church constitution to source financing from any financial institution to undertake any projects at local church level. Matsapha AEC was established in 1980 to 1983; the church built a structure that accommodates about a 100 people. About 25 years later, the current church structure has proven to be too small for the congregation hence the idea to build a new structure. Matsapha AEC is led by Reverend Bongani E. Tsela as the senior Pastor. He is supported by a strong committed executive committee as stated in the list of executive committee page.
