4. The Promotion
At some point Peter began to sink, but Jesus immediately stretched out His hand, lifted him up, and walked with him back to the boat.
What a picture of grace.
Peter almost fell, yet he still experienced a dimension the others in the boat never touched. The storm was not sent to destroy him — it was revealing a deeper walk with Christ.
Before the storm, Peter was simply in the boat. But after the storm, he had walked side by side with Him on top of the waters.
Sometimes the battles we face are not punishments; they are preparations. God uses storms to introduce us to deeper intimacy, stronger faith, greater authority, and spiritual maturity.
Had the storm never come, Peter would never have known what it feels like to walk with Jesus above the very thing that was meant to drown him.
Even when Peter started sinking, Jesus did not abandon him. He held his hand.
This is the beauty of God’s grace:
Even in weakness, failure, fear, and uncertainty, His hand still reaches for us.
Some storms come carrying promotion.
Some battles come carrying revelation.
Some painful seasons come carrying a deeper experience with Christ.
The same storm that threatened the journey became the testimony of a greater walk with God.
