Welcome to 40 days of the MB Fasting and Separation.
23 February - 3 April 2026
To Do;
1. Drink water and fruit juices
2. Drink ORS(salt,sugar&water solution)to restore energy and avoid dehydration
3. Sweets are permitted to refresh breath
4. Eat fruits , vegetables,beans,soups, peanuts after 6PM daily
5. Milk is allowed if you have too much acid in your stomach otherwise avoid it as it may cause stomach upset
6. Smoothies are allowed after 6pm,Juicing is allowed during the day
7. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are allowed to take above recommended diet 3 times a day.
8. If you are on medication,consult your doctor before changing times of taking medication.If you have to take it during the day ,eat above recommended diet before taking medication.
9. Eat raw tomato if you get mouth ulcers,,salt water rinse or mouth wash from pharmacy,they will recommend for your condition
Don'ts;
1. Avoid the sun.If you work in the sun,wear a hat and stay hydrated.Take regular breaks to avoid dizziness
2. We don't eat potatoes,sweet potatoes, eggs,emahewu ,meat and carbohydrates
3. Avoid vigorous exercise
4. Avoid unnecessary galavanting unless it's church or work as we are separated
5. Don't overcook your vegetables as they may loose their nutrients
It is recommended to fast anything that is a destruction to you e.g. social media,addictive habits,gossip,this is a time you can challenge yourself and starve these destructions.
Replace with reading motivational writings to nourish yourself and encourage yourself in this journey
On the final week of our Fasting and Seperation(30 March -3 April) we will break like this;
Sun 5pm
Mon 4pm
Tue 3pm
Wed 2pm
Thursday 1pm
Friday 12noon
We may also introduce potato and sweet potato to prepare the stomach for heavy food.
