This past weekend I once again had the opportunity to work with my friends at Switch ministering to kids in the street and in a very poor community. We believe that the Lord is moving in these places and that He sends us, partially to let them know that their dreams matter. This picture is of Javier. He is about 7 or 8 years old and loves to skateboard. As a matter of fact he is probably the best skater in his community. Better even that kids twice his age. You see Javier does not have someone telling him that he is too young to skate and try new tricks. He often falls but he just gets right back on the board and tries again. We can learn a lot from Javier. You see it is not your age that matters but your commitment that makes things happen. We need to also remember that others are watching and that how we act can inspire others to reach for the stars. And as Christians, no matter what the age, God can use us to affect the lives around us. So do not let age, experience or anything others say hold you back from being the amazing person that God created you to be!

Pressing Need. First thanks to everyone for your prayers and support. I wanted to share with you a need we have to make the ministry better. As you know, we have been working with kids in the streets and communities. Helping them to learn about God's love. The way we have been able to open a door to them is through skateboarding. We go into these areas, spend time skating and share a Bible message with them. The problem we are currently having is that many of the kids do not have skateboards. So what we did was purchased three extra boards to have for them to use along with letting them use our boards. Well they have all broken, we bought them at Walmart and they were really just toys and not good ones. We need to purchase a few skateboards that will last and that we can share with the kids. This past Saturday we only had our three boards to share with about 15 kids. We have a contact who owns a skateboard shop here in El Salvador. He will give us a pretty good deal and we are also looking around here for lightly used ones as well. If you feel led to help us in this you can donate through our parent web site, elsalvadorshope.org. All of the money sent for this will go to buying boards to share with the kids. The cost is about 75 per board but any amount will help us buy the boards we need.

I have been in contact with Mike Steinkamp of MS Skate Ministry. He shared with me their 14 day devotional called "landing bolts". I have only read the first one so far but I loved it and was encouraged by what he has to say. Please check it out. The way that we see others is the same way that we see God. We see them blurred by a worldly vision that will not completely clear up until the day when we see God face to face. Only then will we see both Him and others with clear vision. Ask God to show you those around you with His eyes!
