YAMBIO SYNOD ENCOURAGES FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP
We thank God for bringing us to this day. This has been achieved because of your continued prayers for the Church of God.
Yesterday, Thursday, members of our Diocese of South Sudan and those from the branches began a two-day once in a while Synod at CEEC Christ the King Cathedral Yambio.
In attendance are clergy from Juba, Uganda, DRC, and across Yambio, as well as heads of departments of the CEEC Diocese of South Sudan, women ministry members, choir, evangelists, and Christians.
The synod was opened with a word of God from the Gospel of Matthew 25:14–30, which is the parable of the talents, where our Lord Jesus Christ used a story to teach about faithfulness, stewardship, and responsibility in the Kingdom of God.
In his sermon, Bishop Yepeta Nathan emphasized that we should go to our various locations where we came from and work like the three servants, being productive, not like the last servant who hid the coin without multiplying it.
This parable teaches the importance of using what God has given us—whether it's skills, opportunities, or resources—wisely and for His purposes.
