PENTECOST CELEBRATION AT ST. MARY MOTHER OF GOD CATHEDRAL YAMBIO.

A vivid and spirit-filled celebration of the Feast of Pentecost was joyfully held at St. Mary Mother of God Cathedral Yambio as members of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal professed their faith in God and renewed their commitment to Christian life.

During the solemn Eucharistic celebration, 75 new members were officially integrated into the Catholic Charismatic Renewal group after receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The faithful gathered in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving, marking the occasion with vibrant worship and deep spiritual reflection.

The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Alfred Basana and concelebrated by Fr. Raphael Diko. In his message, the faithful were encouraged to remain open to the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit in their daily Christian journey.

The celebration reflected unity, spiritual renewal, and the living presence of God among His people during the Feast of Pentecost.

ST. MARY MOTHER OF GOD CATHOLIC PARISH SHARES LENTEN CAMPAIGN SUPPORT WITH THE POOR.

Today 22 /5/2026 at St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Parish Yambio joyfully shared items collected during the Lenten Campaign 2026 with the poor and vulnerable members of the community. The charitable activity reflected the Christian spirit of love, mercy and solidarity during this Jubilee Year of hope.

The parish community expressed sincere appreciation to Barani Eduardo Hiiboro, Fr. Alfred Basana together with his curates, the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), and the Catholic Men Association for successfully organising and coordinating the event.

The distribution brought joy and hope to many families, as the faithful were encouraged to continue living the Gospel through acts of charity and compassion toward those in need.

AN INDUCTION CONDUCTED FOR THE NEWLY ORDAINED CLERGY.

Newly ordained priests and deacons of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio gather today, 19th May 2026, at the Curia Hall for a one-day induction facilitated by Fr. Thomas Bagbiowia, the vicar general, Fr. Charles Mbikoyo, the CODEP Director, Fr. Dominic Sasa the Chancellor, Mr. Isaac Gipson the Finance Manager and Lino Nungo the Diocesan Education Secretary.

The induction focused on effective parish administration, financial management, accountability, and strategies for resources mobilisation aimed at strengthening pastoral services within the Church.

Fr. Thomas encouraged the newly ordained clergy to uphold transparency, responsibility, and prudent stewardship in managing parish resources, emphasizing that good administration supports successful evangelisation and community development.

The session also provided practical guidance on leadership, collaboration with the faithful, and sustainable approaches to parish growth as the young clergy begin their pastoral mission.
