✦ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱?
Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, during which Palm branches were placed in his path, before his arrest on Holy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday.
It thus marks the beginning of Holy week, the final week of lent.

Though Jesus had been to Jerusalem several times to celebrate the three pilgrimage festivals, his final entry into Jerusalem had a special meaning.
He was solemnly entering as a humble King of Peace.

The shouted, praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel" Jesus found a young donkey and rode on it , fulfilling the prophecy that said: Don't be afraid, people of Jerusalem, look, your King is coming riding on a donkey's C**t.

𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 " 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲.
Let us pray that husband and wife will say no to adultery and no to divorce.
My wife refuses to respect me, people at Church, work, think we have a happy marriage, they don't know how angry she makes me. When I was a boy, I saw my father beat my mother.
Now I feel like beating my wife.
𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿. 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗠𝗲𝗻.
The Bible doesn't allow a man to beat wife, never beat your wife. Instead, do this:
1) Sit down with her and explain clearly what she is doing wrong (Matt.18:15).
2) If she doesn't listen, ask two Church leaders or community leaders to counsel your wife and you (Matt. 18:16).
3) Perhaps their counsel will solve the problem, if not, ask your Church what action to take (Matt. 18:17).
𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻: my husband beats, yesterday our daughter of age two broke his radio. He was so angry, he beat me until I thought he was going to kill me!
We always attend Church together, we are Christians, yet he thinks he's not wrong to beat me.
I know you will tell me " Be Patient" but I'm so tired of being beaten.
No we are not going to tell you "Be Patient" there are two things which are not allowed in marriage.
1) Adultery (Hebrew 13:4).
2) Beating (1 Peter 3:7).
When a husband/wife says, my partner does adultery or my partner beats me" we never reply "Be Patient" instead we say take action.
We suggest that you take three steps of action:
1) Ask one or two people (relatives or church members) to sit down with you and your husband and discuss this issue (Matt. 18:15-16).
2) If he won't listen to them, you may report it to the Church (Matt. 18:17).
3) Hopefully he will listen to the church. But if he continues beating you, you may need to leave him.
In that case, you could stay with relatives or with a family suggested by your church. Live a pure life never do adultery. (1Corinth. 7:11).
In each difficulty, remember that your heavenly Father is with you, your Church is your helpful.

How to change your wife or husband.

✦ 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 1:- 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.
If you shout hurtful words at your wife, she will just tell herself, my husband doesn't love me, she will not even think about how she should change. She will just feel hurt and unloved.
But if your words are soft and forgiving, she will feel your love, and she will be ready to change.

✦ 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 2: 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹.
If tomorrow you feel angry because dinner isn't ready, wait before you speak, yes wait for your angry to cool, then speak to her about changing. Your words cannot be soft and forgiving if you are angry.

✦ 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 3: 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 '𝗬𝗼𝘂' 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 "𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹".
Here are examples of how to use " I feel" instead of " You ".
𝗔) Don't say " You " never have dinner ready because you are inefficient and lazy; instead, wait for a day when dinner is ready; then say, Thanks ! I feel that you ready; then say, Thanks! I feel that you really care for me when I find dinner ready.
𝗕) Don't say, you are not respectful to my mother because you are impolite and ignorant" that just hurts her, and doesn't help her to change. Instead say , here's how I feel because of tension between my mother and you, I feel torn between her and you. My deepest love is for you. And I feel that you love me when you are kind to my mother.
𝗖) Don't shout, you wasted money on that! Instead say, I feel hurt when you buy things without discussing it with me. I feel much closer to you when we talk about what we should buy.

A sentence that begins with " You " is hurtful criticism.
But if you begin with " I feel " you can share your feelings without pointing a finger at her.
An " I feel "sentence helps you to attack the problem, without attacking the person.

Besides, for you who are a Christian it will be even worse: those Wazungu don't like Christians.
How do you know that ? Questioned Bakanja.
When I worked for some time at Bongita replied Boyoto, there was a Christian called Pierre Yanza who taught us how to pray, we were all pagans, our Mzungu, Mondele Nganga , got really made at Pierre because he gathered us together to pray, he warned Pierre never to do that again.
Unfortunately the word of God had not yet reached that far up the Ruki river, and Bakanja decided to go to Busira where he would be able to meet missionaries from time to time.
After all he soon found work as a servant in the house of a Plantation supervisor called Mr. Reynders , he was transferred to Ikili far away up the river so he asked Bakanja to go with him, another friend Antoine Bovoto , who was not yet a Christian tried to persuade Bakanja not to go so far away with his master, my Mzungu is not bad replied Bakanja.
I have no reason to refuse to go with him, it's your bussines Bakanja, but believe me the Wazungu who work in far away places are very bad and what will make it worse for you is that you are a Christian, how will you be able to live among those Godless people who hate religion so much?
Bakanja replied, do not fear those who kill the body but can not kill the soul, so they went when they reached there Bakanja tried to teach others how to pray the God Father the Christians, so the manager of the plantation called Bakanja and told him if you want to pray do it in your heart, for the second time Bakanja started to praying Rosary quietly his master said I hate men who pray , they are no longer men but animals, Bakanja replied hates me because I'm a Christian.
While Bakanja was beaten, Iyongo said it clearly and his words carried all the window of the Mongo village, if Bakanja had not been a Christian nothing would have happened to him.

𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗭𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲
On Monday the 25th April 1994, in the presence of hundreds of Bishops, Religious and lay people from all over Africa and the rest of the world, Pope John Paul II proclaimed Blessed yet another of our own Africa brothers who lived and died as a model follower of Jesus.
This was Isidore Bakanja of Zaire, very few people on our continent have ever heard of him, and this is why we would like to tell you about this admirable Christian who lived a very simple life and died because of his faith.
Two questions for you: first, are there many African Saints venerated by the Church? You may be surprised to hear that there are quite a number of them, many of those lived in North Africa in the first centuries after the death of Jesus, among them there were great Bishops like St. Augustine, great writers, holy monks, Saintly women like Perpetua and Felicity.
The Ethiopian Church and the Coptic Church of Egypt also honour many Saints and Martyrs who lived in the first few hundred years of our era.
The new Africa Saints lived and died within the last 100 years or so, many of them Martyrs for their faith, you have certainly heard about the Uganda Martyrs and possibly about Blessed Anuarite of Zaire and Blessed Bakhita of Sudan.
So Blessed Isidore Bakanja lived in Zaire which at the time was called the Belgian Congo.
After working for some time as an assistant Mason in the town of Mbandaka, Bakanja felt he would like to spend some time in his own village and with his family, he also thought he would like to change his job and become a servant in the house of a Mzungu.
His friends Boyoto, who was at the time working on a plantation at Bomputu and later became a Catechist, warned him (Bakanja) don't go to a far away Plantation with a Mzungu, you will never be happy there.
Those Wazungu who live in the bush don't like people who come from near the towns.

✦ 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?
Come Holy Spirit into my soul enlighten my mind that I may know the sins I ought to confess, and grant me your grace to confess them fully, humbly and with contrite heart, help me to firmly resolve not to commit them again.

✦ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?
Confession begins with
1) Sign of the cross and the penitent greetings the priest with the words.
2) Bless me Father for I have sinned, my last confession was ( weeks, months, years).
3) Confession sins to the Priest who stands in the name of Christ and the Church.

✦ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?
It doesn't have to be a non stop laundry list of sin, when you are done, conclude by saying I'm sorry for these and all my sins.
Listen to the Priest, when you are done confessing your sins, the Priest may offer some guidance and suggest ways to avoid sins in the future.

✦ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿?
This prayer is short and simple.
My God, I'm sorry for my sins with all my heart, in choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all this.
I firmly intend with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid what ever leads me to sin.

Amen .
