's son, whom He loves, and with whom He is well pleased!
By Bishop Santino
Romans 8:29
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
*God’s pleasure—His joy, delight, will, design and plan is for you to be made identical to His Son, Jesus Christ by His grace. Today, you are in Christ not because you want to, but because the love of God has prevailed. You are His love-Son.
*In Ephesians 1:5, the word says, " having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will". God in His eternal plan in Christ has out of His goodness, kindness and love placed us sons, not slaves. This is a finished deal.
*Now that we are in Christ, we are made identical to Jesus Christ. And what God thinks and says about Jesus is what He thinks and says about us.
In Matthew 3:17, the Word says, "And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased"." This is God's testimony concerning who Jesus is to Him. And you know what? This is who we are to God because we are in Christ Jesus.
*As Jesus is His son, we are His sons. As Jesus is whom He loves, we are whom He loves. As Jesus is with whom He is well pleased, we are with whom He is well pleased. This is the gospel—good news of God's amazing grace! Repent—change the way you think about God or yourself—and believe the gospel.
*As Jesus is, so are you now. You may not be feeling like it, but this is the truth. Believe God, not your feelings or circumstances.
*Your identity in Christ is not defined by your actions, but the grace—Jesus and by what the grace has done in your life. In Christ, it's your identity that determines your behavior, not the opposite. So, don't focus on your behavior to become what you are by His grace. Rather, focus on who you are by His grace to behave like who you are in Christ.
