IF CHURCH WAS A JOB, MANY PEOPLE WOULD NEVER MISS IT
One sad reality about the church today is this:
many people take God more casually than they take their jobs.
At work, people endure pressure, insults, accusations, and difficult bosses yet they still wake up early and report for duty because they know there is a salary waiting for them at the end of the month.
But in church, just one misunderstanding with a fellow believer can make someone disappear for months.
A person can survive a toxic work environment for money,
but cannot survive a small offense in the house of God for their spiritual growth.
Why?
Because many people have reduced church to a place of convenience instead of commitment.
If church members were being paid salaries every Sunday, many would never miss a service because of offense.
They would still attend while angry because they are expecting something in return.
That shows the problem is not always the offense sometimes the problem is the heart.
The church was never meant to be a place for perfect people.
It is a hospital for wounded souls, a place where imperfect people gather to seek a perfect God.
The enemy understands something many believers fail to realize:
if he cannot stop you from getting saved, he will try to disconnect you from fellowship.
The devil knows isolated believers become weak believers.
Hebrews 10:25 NIV
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
People have allowed pride, bitterness, jealousy, and offense to destroy what prayer built.
Never allow human weakness to separate you from God’s presence.
You were not going to church because of people.
You were going because your soul needs God.
Stay planted.
Stay committed.
Stay faithful even when people disappoint you.
Because at the end of the day, God is still holy even when people are imperfect.
