E Stephen Ameyu Martin Cardinal Mulla on 7th February 2026 ordained priests and deacons for the Catholic Diocese of El-Obeid and the Franciscan Orders in St Theresa Cathedral Kator - Juba, South Sudan. Congratulations to H. L.Yunan Tombe Trile the Bishop of El-Obeid and the entire Church in the Sudan.

IN MEMORY OF POPE FRANCIS

Today marks 3 years since His Holiness Pope Francis made an historic Apostolic and Ecumenical visit to Juba South Sudan.

Peace is what Pope Francis and the Ecumenical leaders prayed and encouraged to embrace but unfortunately the opposite exists today in the country.

May God bless South Sudan with peace, Amen.

The Catholic Bishops have been honoured by a special delegate from the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) Rt Rev Flavian Kassala the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Gaita in Tanzania. He joined the Bishops in Malakal where they are having their annual meeting. Bishop Kassala came with the message of solidarity from the AMECEA Region and to share with the Bishops on the Synod on Synodaliity. His video attached shows his encouragement to the internally displaced persons in PoC in Malakal and a call for leaders to work for peace.
