The biggest Jesus statue in Brazil is (Cristo Redentor), located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue is 98 feet (30 meters) tall, with arms that span 92 feet (28 meters), and it stands on a 26-foot (8-meter) pedestal.
Key features of Christ the Redeemer:
Location:
Situated atop Mount Corcovado in Tijuca National Park, Rio de Janeiro.
Art Deco style:
It's the largest Art Deco sculpture in the world.
Construction:
Built between 1922 and 1931, it's made of reinforced concrete and covered in soapstone tiles.
Design:
Created by French-Polish sculptor Paul Landowski and built by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa.
Significance:
A symbol of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, it is a popular tourist destination, with about 1.9 million tourists visiting the monument annually.
