*Asalam aleikum warahmatulahi wa barakatu*
Dear Brothers and sisters, it *Friday*, a blessed day to perform a congregational prayer, make dua and if possible give sadaqat.
*This Friday* we ask you to give a thought or a dua to your Muslim brothers and sisters languishing in refugee camps with no hope of return or resettlement.
*This Friday* remember those kids in refugee camps who never know any other life other than wait for rations from WFP or some other charities
*This Friday* as you take your udhu with the tap gashing clean water remember your brethrens in the Horn of Africa where whole villages have been deserted due to the severe droughts
*This Friday* as you perform your sunnah before the Khutba, starring at that expensive Ottoman carpet, remember the old anthritic lady who has done all her salah on an old WFP sack she sewn together decade ago when she first fled for her life.
*This Friday* When you seat at the perfumed mosque, Reading your quran and struggling to stop your mind wandering back at the gossip of the struggle in the masjid committee, remember that kid who has never had a chance to learn alif, baa, taa thaa
*This Friday* When you are listening to the Khutba with sleepy attention, remember that little boy who has to fend for his family at the age of 10 in a desolate camp where he cannot afford not to pay attention as only the fittest survive
*This Friday* as you painfully depart with your hard earned pennies to keep the never satisfied imam asking you to help the cleaned, carpeted, air conditioned, automated taps, and luxurious toilets Masjid meet its cost for your comfort, remember those praying under a tree, on bare hard soil, surviving weather elements deeply thanking Allah SWT for the bounty HE has given them
*This Friday* as you eat your biriani or roasted ribs, salivating smiling, thanking your Lord for His mercy and bounty, remember that little girl who has never seen a piece of meat, who if you can spare the leftover crumbs for her it will be the greatest feast of her little life.
*This Friday* spare a thought, a dua or little sadaqat for the Muslim poor, displaced, and refugees of *Yemen*, *Syria* *Afghanistan* *Palestians* *Oromania* *Somalis*
Remember a sincere dua from your heart and a little sadaqat will not improvish you
May Allah SWT bless you and your family and increase His favours to you.
