Topic: Who Surrounds You?
The quality of one’s destiny is determined by the quality of his relationships. The people in your life affect the quality of your life.
SCRIPTURE: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Who surrounds you determines what you can survive.
Today, we shall be looking at the sustenance of quality relationship.
It is important to know that the quality of one’s destiny is determined by the quality of his relationships. The people in your life affect the quality of your life. There is something that is worse than the lack of money; it is the lack of quality people. What leads to a miserable person and a miserable destiny is the lack of quality people.
Those who don’t value people don’t value their destiny. The truth is, no one can succeed in this world without quality people because the world is filled with people. So, a lack of value for quality people equals lack of value for destiny. When Paul the Apostle was stoned to death in the Book of Acts 14:20; those he had loved and touched surrounded him, they stood round about him. They did not say anything, they did not offer a prayer; they just released on him their goodwill, affection, positive touch, and he stood up on his feet.
Who surrounds you determines what you can survive; who surrounds you determines how far you can succeed.
Beloved, do not play with your surrounding because your surrounding determines your success and survival. If you doubt me, ask those who live in. snake-infested areas. It is a great thing to be surrounded by people who supply you goodwill because goodwill is stronger than witchcraft.
The right association will reinforce your conviction. Wrong association will destroy your conviction.
What must I do
1. Disconnect yourself from any relationship that is not adding value to your life and destiny.
2. Surround yourself with quality people.
3. Determine to be a quality person to those who

TOPIC: SECRETS OF EFFECTIVE PRAYER SCRIPTURE READING:
James 5:16 Amplified version: 16. Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
MESSAGE OBJECTIVE:
* Understanding that which guarantees both success and answer in prayer
*It is important to be prayerful but it is far more important to pray aright and not amiss
*It is not the volume of prayer that determines the value/impact of prayer
*The length of prayer does not determine the strength or weight of prayer
*Those who pray are many but those that pray and experience victory in prayer are few (Jam. 4:3)
SECRETS OF EFFECTIVE PRAYER:
1. Righteousness of life (Jam. 5:16; Ps. 66:18; Isa. 59:1-2; Hab. 1:13)
1a. Guilt destroys the force of prayer
Righteousness imparts audacity and unrighteousness imparts timidity at the place of prayer
1b. Guilt destroys the faith of prayer
It is very important to keep the conscience clear at the place of prayer; where the conscience is clear, access is guaranteed
i. Iniquity establishes a wall of separation between humanity and Divinity
ii. Iniquity limits the delivering hands of the Almighty
iii. Iniquity hides the Face of God from man
iv. Sin is a spiritual sound-proof of man’s voice/ life
The purity of the conscience determines the power of prayer
When conscience is defiled, access is denied
2. Desperation and passion of heart (Jam. 5:16; Jer. 29:13; Ps. 63:1-2) When your focus is single and your heart is on fire, your voice must be heard
Desperation and passion of heart means, at the place of prayer, you mean what you say and you say what you mean
Desperation and passion of heart is the possession of a determination that can’t be dissuaded
