Recently, President Dallin H. Oaks shared that “in coming weeks, we will have the largest number of full-time missionaries in the Church’s history.”
I am delighted to share that more than 88,500 full-time missionaries are now serving across the world—an all-time high in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This remarkable moment reflects the faith and devotion of a rising generation of disciples of Jesus Christ, including many 18-year-old sister missionaries who are entering the mission field.
This moment also reflects the wonderful support that parents, families, friends, and others provide to all of our missionaries as they serve across the globe. We are so grateful for the sacrifices so many of you make.
As has been previously announced, the Church recently created 55 new missions to accommodate this remarkable growth.
What a marvelous time to be engaged in the Lord’s work. As the Lord’s missionaries give their heart, might, mind, and strength to their missionary service, the Lord will magnify their efforts.
He will bless them with strength beyond their own and fill their lives with joy as they participate in the great and marvelous hastening of the Lord’s work.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has invited everyone to participate in a unified fast on July 5, 2026, to express gratitude for religious liberty and pray that it will be strengthened globally.

In a letter signed by President Dallin H. Oaks, President Henry B. Eyring, and President D. Todd Christofferson, Church leaders encouraged members and others to reflect on the importance of religious freedom as the United States marks the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence in 2026.

At the 2026 Seminar for New Mission Leaders, President Dallin H. Oaks highlighted the continued growth in the number of full-time missionaries serving around the world. Church leaders anticipate that within the next few weeks, the total number of missionaries will reach an unprecedented level — surpassing any previous point in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As this historic milestone approaches, more young men and young women are preparing to begin their service. In anticipation of this continued growth, Church leaders are providing helpful guidance and information for those currently preparing to serve or considering future missionary service.

Manowa, Peje Chiefdom, Kailahun District – The Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Charles Senessie officially turned the sod for the construction of a new Community Health Centre in Manowa, Peje Chiefdom, Kailahun District, marking a significant step toward improving access to quality healthcare services for residents of the community and surrounding areas.

The project, funded by the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in the region by providing a modern facility capable of offering essential medical services to thousands of people. Construction of the health centre is scheduled to be completed within five months.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Health described the project as a testament to the Government of Sierra Leone’s commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to health services across the country.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting community development and improving the lives of vulnerable populations through health and humanitarian interventions. They expressed confidence that the new facility would contribute meaningfully to better health outcomes in the district once completed.

Upon completion, the Community Health Centre is expected to enhance the delivery of primary healthcare services, improve maternal and child health outcomes, and strengthen the overall health system in Kailahun District.
