The end of the three days lockdown does not mean the end of Covid - 19 nor an end to precautionary measures. Let's ensure enhanced compliance in ensuring we defeat this pandemic. It requires our collective efforts with a disciplined mindset and approach.

We are sure of defeating this scourge with resilience and a firm commitment to the dictates of the state and medical professionals.

Let's disseminate positive messages, let's raise awareness, let's involve in active advocacy, let's take fruitful actions to end Corona. Let's make it a commitment. The fight is winnable with God been our helper.

Sierra Leone joined the Kroobay Community with the Citizens hearing to unearth the challenges posed in attaining the SDG's. Kroobay is a slum settlement with various societal vices. It is located at the Western Area of Sierra Leone with largely fishermen and skilled workers. Their concerns were very much topical ranging from unemployment, lack of quality teaching and inadequate learning materials, teenage prostitution and pregnancy, poor sanitation, lack of clean water and security challenges they opined.

A father of three and a carpenter noted that, he's been out of job for almost a year with no alternative source of income "that has left my children to go out of school to fend for themselves through trading, within four months, the two girls are pregnant, he said with bitterness.

Another member of the community whilst commenting on Poor Sanitation and lack of pure water facilities said " Our lives are in danger of been exposed to Malaria and Cholera especially during this raining season, we donot have clean water and we cannot afford to buy pure water, except we have to boil the one available, for drinking, our community is dirty with no proper drainage giving room for mosquitoes to breed and exposing us to health complications, I want to move out from here, but I can't at the moment because my income level is low and I have to feed my family, my husband died two years back in 2016, he left me with six children, two boys and four girls, only two are going to school, the others dropped out because I can't afford to pay for all of them, the elder one is now a fisherman, helping me with his younger ones, my elder daughter left the house, I don't even know her whereabouts, She is 16years old, to rent a house here is cheaper than other places, I'm begging you to talk to government to come to our help.
The situation at Kroobay is gravely worrisome as most members are really in fear during the rains as it is very likely that a heavy downpour of rain may cause flooding.
