As 2024 comes to a close, we are truly thankful for all that God has done for us this year—the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned, and the achievements of our young program.
I remember clearly how it all began. In October 2023, after a conversation with a friend, I was about to sleep but couldn't, as many thoughts filled my mind. I recalled watching a video earlier that year in March, of a young woman preaching God's word, encouraging Christians on social media in April to share the gospel instead of just posting personal photos. That message deeply moved me, and after praying, I decided to start sharing God's word. I noticed that Facebook was where I had the most followers. However, the next day, I forgot about my plan as with all other things.
Back to October that fateful night, after talking with my friend and praying, at around 11pm, I struggled to sleep. In a moment between sleep and wakefulness, I felt a revelation: to start a program called "Mek Wi Tok Bibul Tok." I immediately called my friend to discuss it. She, being spiritually grounded and my trusted confidant, advised me to pray about it first. The next morning, I prayed and consulted some faithful Christian brothers, who gave the same advice—to seek God's guidance. I prayed and fasted for three days and then decided to embark on this journey. God's presence was evident, especially in how He provided for our needs. People generously gave money for a microphone, tripod stand, and other essentials for the program, for which I am truly grateful.
This year, we accomplished:
1. Successfully completing ten full episodes of our first series.
2. Touching the hearts of Sierra Leoneans, with three individuals testifying to being blessed by the program.
3. Receiving financial support from fellow Christians who admired our work.
4. Learning new skills like video editing, which have been beneficial in other areas as well.
We are grateful that the Lord was with us through it all. His word reminds us to "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" .
We faced challenges, such as:
1. Posting long videos, as social media platforms have time limits.
2. Longer upload times for lengthy videos, often requiring late nights.
3. Learning video editing from scratch, which was initially daunting.
4. Balancing work commitments, especially when fieldwork took me to areas without electricity, hindering video production.
Despite these obstacles, we remain steadfast and dedicated to God's work. Our mission, as stated in the Great Commission, is to "go and make disciples of all nations" . With better planning and God's help, we aim to continue this good work in 2025.
I am not a pastor or evangelist, just a fellow Christian passionate about sharing God's word.
