🎙️ YOUR VOICE MATTERS! 📺

Join the movement to Break the Silence on Sexual and Gender‑Based Violence (SGBV). Too many are suffering behind closed doors, silence is no longer an option. In Sierra Leone, an estimated 62% of women aged 15–49 have experienced physical or sexual violence. This epidemic affects families, churches, schools, and entire communities.

This upcoming Radio and TV Programme by the Anglican Diocese of Freetown is more than a broadcast, it’s a nationwide call to action. 💥

đź’¬ Speak out for justice. Stand with the broken. Tune into real voices. Learn how you can make a difference.

📌 Why you need to be part of these events?

SGBV touches our work, families, places of worship, and neighborhoods, it affects all of us.
Left unchecked, it erodes hope, dignity, and safety in our society.
By joining this conversation, you help build a culture of protection, respect, and healing.

Whether you're a survivor, youth, parent, church member, or someone who cares, this is your moment to be informed, empowered, and inspired. Real change begins with you. The time is now.

đź“… Tune in:

Radio: July 20, 2025 – SLBC Radio
TV: August 3, 2025 – SLBC TV

👉 Be the reason someone finds hope. Be the voice that speaks truth.
Together, we can end SGBV in Sierra Leone.

Don’t miss it. 🙌🔥

📖We celebrate our very own Revd. Elijah D. Lasite-Dixon from the Anglican Diocese of Freetown and the Church of the Province of West Africa, who made history at the Closing Prayer of the World Council of Churches Central Committee Meeting in South Africa!Revd. Elijah read the Scripture Lesson – 1 Thessalonians 5:12–25 in Krio, one of the national languages of Sierra Leone 🇸🇱—bringing the richness of our culture and faith into global Christian worship. 🙌🏾🌍"Leh we respek dem we dae wok pan we behaf…" 🕊️(1 Thessalonians 5:12–25 – Krio Reading)This powerful moment reminded the global Church that every language matters in God’s Kingdom, and that Sierra Leone’s voice is vibrant in the ecumenical family. 🕊️🌿👏🏾 Join us in thanking God for this witness of unity, identity, and service!

Watching STRAW MOVIE brought back memories of my mother’s quiet strength, the kind that carried her through the relentless stress of life and the battles she fought during the darkest days of COVID.

The cardiac attacks she endured never diminished her spirit; instead, they revealed the depth of her resilience. She had a heart overflowing with love, extending even to those who were not her children, embracing them as her own.

Her kindness was not selective, it was abundant, boundless, and unwavering.

Even now, as I stand in the pulpit, I feel her presence in the love I extend to others, in the faith that keeps me moving forward. Grief could have broken me, but instead, it has shaped me, just as her love shaped all those fortunate enough to know her.

I preach not just with words but with the legacy she left behind, knowing that every act of love is a sermon in itself.
