On behalf of St. Charles Lwanga's Catholic Men's Association, Lower Allen Town, Freetown, the Chairman, Christian Lawrence brings you greetings. The CMA has been successfully planning and executing programmes gearing towards spiritually and materially developing its members, the general church membership, and even members of the immediate Allen Town Community.
One of our flagship programmes that we consistently do yearly is 'Feeding and Clothing of the Poor and Needy'. For this particular activity, members of this Association mobilizes financial and other kinds of resources to procure basic/necessary food items and clothing which we share to some poor and needy members of our church and the Allen Town community. We do not provide this kind of support regularly because the Association members are rich. We do so because the Holy Bible says we must share the little we have with others that have nothing around us. So we encourage all readers, whether they are religious or not, to share the little they have with very poor and needy people around them. This way, we contribute in our own little ways to reduce poverty and hardship we find all around us. The CMA again this 2017 provided food and clothing consignments to fifty members of our church and the Allen Town community. The beneficiaries were elated; and we felt good to have brought smiles to their weary faces.
We are also proud to announce that during its 2017 Archdiocesan Catholic Men's Association (ACMA) Delegates Conference and elections, of the 13 Executive positions, St. Charles Lwanga members got elected for the following 3 positions: 'Assistant Secretary', 'Public Relations Officer' (of the Eastern Deanery), and 'Auditor'. It is instructive to note that ACMA comprises of over twenty Churches and Parishes in both the Western Rural and Urban areas of Sierra Leone. CMA St. Charles Lwanga CMA members cannot be more proud of their instrumental work in the umbrella organization.
On 19 November 2017, CMA St. Charles Lwanga celebrated its 11th Annual Thanksgiving. The Parish Priest, Rev. Father Sylvester Kische officiated both the Thanksgiving Retreat and Mass. The programmes were planned and executed well. The praise goes to God for making it possible.
Our CMA members will continue to show exemplary spiritual leadership in our church. Remember, do not forget to show some kindness to the poor and needy in your immediate vicinity.
See couple of thanksgiving pictures on our page.
Have a great day everyone.
